Scott's Memorial Fund

September 21, 2015

Many people have asked what we plan on doing with the money in Scott's Memorial Fund. As a family we have decided to purchase a spring loaded motorcycle to place in the DeBeque Park in Scott's honor. Scott loved the kids in DeBeque and he worked hard to improve the town and the things that were available for the town's youth. We are sure he would approve. Donations may be made to the Scott Elliott Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Branch.

Celebrating Scott's Life

June 1, 2015

Please join us for a celebration of Scott's life at 11:00 am on June 27th at the De Beque High School Gym, with a luncheon immediately following.

We are celebrating the Scott that we all loved, be ready to smile, laugh and maybe shed a tear or two, not because we are mourning but because we are remembering the good times we shared with Scott!

We invite and encourage you to share a story or memory with us during that time.

If you would like to join Scott for his last ride, please ride your bike to the celebration.  After the luncheon the bikes will line up and escort Scott on his final ride.

In following Scott's wishes, cremation has taken place.

Scott Robert Elliott, 54, of De Beque Colorado, died on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Scott was an avid motorcyclist. He took his final ride along the Grand Mesa Scenic Byway, doing something he truly loved.

Scott was born on June 25, 1960 in Minneapolis, MN.  As a young man, Scott proudly served his country in the US Navy. After his discharge, he moved to Colorado where he spent the remainder of his life.

Scott operated heavy equipment throughout the valley and was a truck driver, most recently with Wagner.  He was invested in the town of De Beque, where he was loved and respected as a trustee.  All through his life, Scott was always there for people who had a need, jumping in and helping whenever he could. His final wish was to continue helping people by being an organ donor. He succeded in doing this and in turn saved many lives.

He is preceded in death by his mother Ellen Elliott. He is survived by his father and step-mother, Robert and Mari Elliott, his sisters, Jeanne Elliott, Lisa (Tim) Zeman and Amy (Mark) Van Steenwyk, nephews Will Zeman, Dakota Zeman and Jonas Van Steenwyk, great-nephew Coulter Zeman, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be forever missed by his family, his riding buddies, his Enzo’s friends and his Wagner family among many others.

Contributions in memory of Scott can be made to ‘Scott Elliott Memorial Fund’ at any Wells Fargo branch or sent to:  C/O Scott Elliott Memorial Fund, 330 Will Ave, Rifle, CO  81650.
