My Uncle Scotty- Paul Williams

Uncle Scotty-Oh wow, what a man I shared a room with uncle Scotty for awhile He slept on the bottom bunk. I slept on the top
I learnt a lot about the man in my time. He was a sharp dresser and was always suited up when going out on the town. His cars were emaculate. I always thought it funny how he got dressed up to the nines, then he would wash his car all dressed up. He would say, "I be finished in a minute".
He would always share his favourite music with me. He liked calipso and reggae. He would encourage me to get things done, like learning to drive. He use to take the family on trips one day as we all got in his car he said Paul it’s your turn to start driving as he won’t be able to do it all the time. I soon got my license
He would share his work with me too; he was a skilled oxyacetylene welder and also was excellent at making things. Uncle Scotty always had time for all of us. Whenever he was around most of the family would turn up. He was so loving and friendly.
I visited him in New York a few times. He was always annoyed with me as I would turn up after a few days and he would say you should have come already. An Uncle was a father figure, a friend and a family member.
Much loved and very much missed

Life with Scotty- My beloved Broter - Trylin Williams
March 23, 2021
My brother Scotty and myself grew up together with our parent Bertie an Vida Williams.
There were eight sibbling but only Scotty an myself grew up together. The rest were raised with our grandparents in Frazer St.Ann.
At an early age Scotty fell from a starapple tree and broke his hand. That was the first time went to a hospital.
We both attended school in Comfort Hall Manchester. We went to the Baptist church in Epping Forest. Growing up we helped our tather with the store, un his farm and with the cows he owned, so the people in our district called him Farmer.
After the death of our Father we left Manchester and he went to live with his cousin Miss Vergie in Highgate Hall Trelawny. He decided to learn a trade so he went to the cabinet shop at Coleyville. It was there that he become a Cabinet Maker. During that time we visited each other weekly. He never left me out. I was living at Cascade then and he would come see me as often as he could. He was a loving brother to me. He cared for his two sibbling my self an our last little brother Robbie.
Our Mother migrated to England in 1961 and she sent for Scotty. That was the first time we would be apart. However, he said: "Don't worry my brother we will soon be together." Sure enough i joined him in 1964 where he lived in Derby England with with our mother.
Scotty loved stopping and would take me shoping. As my loving brother he would also take me to a lot of places to meet his friends. He then worked in the textile industry for a few years. said to me One day he told me that he was going to buy himself a Lorrey; that is a Tipper Truck. He did well with that and also he taught me to drive a car then to drive truck his truck. He never left me and really took care of me as a big brother.
He met his wife got married to her and an had four kids living in Nottingham. He then went into welding he did well. After several years he and his wife were separated and eventually divorced.
He then left Uk for Brooklyn New York where again we were together again. He soon caught up with his old school days girl friend Blossom and they get married a short time after.
He lived in the Bronx there he went into carpentry work. He soon earned a reputation for being an excellent worker. He worked for many persons such like David Latherman and many other well known persons.
Scotty and his wife Blossom had a wonderfull life together. They both did well together. I spent quite a lot of time with them in the Bronx even though I lived in Florida i enjoyed going go hang out with them and also to work with Scotty doing kitchens and bathrooms.
A few days before his passing he called me in Jamaica to say he was not feeling well. I said go to the hospital, however he told me he didnot want to go because his doctor said he must not go to the hospital. I came back from Jamaica on the 27 of March and spoke to him at 5.30 pm. That was the last time spoke to my brother. He passed on the 2nd of April.
I could stay up and write all day about my brother Scotty as I really miss him so much.
RIP- Trylin Williams

Uncle Scotty I can't believe it's nearly a year you were taken from us, due to this terrible pandemic. I miss you dearly and you will never be forgotten. You lived with me and my daughter Charlene for a while, before you left to go to America. It was a blessing to have you in my home and I treasure these precious memories. I came to visit you and Blossom in America, with Charlene and Jannell and we had such a wonderful time.
When you came to the UK, Jan jan went everywhere with you, she was like you shadow. You never like to see anyone down or sad, once they heard your contagious laugh and your loudness, it always put a smile on their faces. Manley and I always talk about you, how you were so happy, easy going and loved life.
I know you're looking down on us and you're always in my thoughts. One love as you always said to me. Love you always Uncle Scotty.
Your Niece-Juliet
