Sean was one of my younger brothers.
As a young man, having done a good leaving cert, which was all that was required at the time for a Cadetship in the army, but the competition in that year was hugh.He had all the qualities needed serious minded, athletic etc.
Like so many Irish people over the years he became an emigre not in the political but economic sense of the word.
He took a full part in the community in which he lived, played rugby, took part in musical societies and also became a magistrate.
He became an accountant, then a company secretary and started a successful company of his own.
He loved ireland, came over for every family event and stayed at my home, many many times, on the way to Athlone.
He also produced a family newsletter and helped to resolve a serious family dispute.
He was a patient listener, would never offend, was stoic, self reliant, strong willed in order to do the right thing in life.He was not given to be over critical of others,he was thoroughly family orientated, but at the same time gregarious.
He had great atentative affection for his younger handicapped brother, David which was sweet to behold.
He had a strong impulse to be useful, take part and care about things, and in Patrick Pearse's words "scatter not hoard".Of human frailties he had few.
I am his only extant older brother and I mourn his passing.
