This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Sharon Paradise Vance, 57, of Ormond Beach. She was welcomed to Heaven on Monday, January 30, 2012. Sharon was a devoted wife to husband, Danny; a loving mother to daughters, Danielle and Jessica, and son-in-law, Mikel Taft; and an adoring grandmother to grandson, Easton. She was a long-time dedicated dental assistant at the office of Dr. Daniel Cox, always providing compasionate care to the patients who adored her. Her selflessness, generosity, and kindness made all she knew love her. She will be deeply missed and always remembered.

She meant the world to me. There are so many things I truly admired about her as a person, as my best friend, and as my wife and partner. She didn't give up. She was a fighter. I loved that about her. She had a smile that lights up my soul. When I saw it, it made me melt inside. I loved that about her. She was the kindest person I've ever met. She truly cared about others and would take the time to help someone in need. No questions asked. I loved that about her. She was simple, yet complex. She was cute in all the moments she wasn't trying to be. I loved that about her. She was picky about the smallest things sometimes. While I didn't understand it all the time, I wouldn't change it for the world. I loved that about her. She always supported me. She didn't always agree with me (thank goodness), but she supported me regardless. I loved that about her. She was the most unselfish and dedicated person I've ever known. She made countless sacrifices for me and the girls. Virtually every thought, every move, every step she took, she considered us before herself. I loved that about her. Most of all, I love that I met her, fell in love with her, married her, and raised two wonderful daughters with her. I will not be the same without my unbelievable wife by my side.

Today marks 10 year the love of my life has been gone.

10 years ago Sharon was fighting hard to live long enough to see our first grandchild born. Now there are seven grandchildren and they all know her through the stories told by the family. In the end, she left this world far to soon. But I am thankful her pain is gone. I miss her every day. I often look to the heavens seeking her guidance, which helps me feel that we are still a team. I believe she’s an angel now, protecting our family.

My grief has changed over the 10 years. The memories of her three year fight seems to be growing dimmer as cherished memories prevail. I miss her every day.

I steal often feel a weight of sadness that is not caused by anything I can put my finger on, a feeling of emptiness and longing. I miss her every day.

I am grateful for having her as my wife for 30 years, I miss her every day.

I am thinking of all of you today as I do so often. Danny what a beautiful tribute to Sharon and so very true. It brings tears to my eyes thinking of how much all of you are missing her today and everyday. Sharon was one of a kind that is for sure. I like to believe she can see all of you and how the family thrives as she would want you to. I so enjoy seeing all the photos on facebook and I can see her in all of the kids faces. When we take our vows and say, "until death do we part," we are lying to ourselves. Death only brings a physical departure. A marriage and the bond between a husband and wife make two people into one. That means that even when we lose a wife, we are still left with that special love that burns inside and never dies. That internal love burns on even if our wife is no longer with us. Clinging to that love inside of us, even if it can never be physically expressed, sustains me in her passing.

The grief and pain can be almost unbearable; you cry a river and your sorrow knows no end. You never really know what it’s like until you are there yourself.

We lived as husband and wife for 30 years. All through this period she was my pillar of support, my friend, my companion, my partner and my wife. I miss a million things, every detail of who you are. I miss your mind , body and soul.

You’re a wonderful mother to our children. Each of them love you so dearly. You have been to them a mentor, an example, a teacher, a comfort, a place to turn for insight and wisdom, a friend, a role model, a light, and one in whom they can trust. You have made them secure in your love! We all thank you.

My second biggest heartbreak (first been loosing you) is that our 6 grandchildren will not get to experience your affection first hand. They all however are well aware of who you are and what you brought to the family.

I am trying hard to carry on in ways that you would approve of.

I still say I am one lucky man to have been given the gift of you.

Thinking of all of you as I do so often. I love to see the photos Jessica posts on facebook of her beautiful family and all of you. Sharon will be forever missed that is for sure and I know she treasured ever moment with all of you. I still see her so often in my dreams and last night I dreamed she and I were in charge of little Johnny Cox, which was no small task, and were to make sure he was picked up from the office along with his video games and low and behold we forgot his video games and were beside ourselves lol.

Thinking of you Sharon and of your family today. It is so sad to think that you have been gone for two years already. I know you are looking down upon your family and protecting them with your loving spirit. Your precious grandchildren, now three beautiful babies: Easton, Lily and Ruby, will never get to physically know you but they will feel your love and kindness through your spirit.
