Dr. Sheeba Paranilam - Homage from IANAM
She was a dear daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, nurse
And many more were the hats she wore in life’s journey
A life so loved by many, cherished by manifold, taken away too soon
A compassionate nurse dedicated to her patients
Always a reason for pride and joy to near and dear ones
A soul full of purpose and love, high flying and zealous
Who lived a virtuous and righteous life
A leader so gentle, kind and compassionate,
Who held fast onto her dreams, took wings and flew
And accomplished all she put her heart into, winning many a laurels
A role model, mentor, comrade, teacher
A fighter so strong and resilient, a true warrior in life and death
Who showed fortitude in the face of darkest moments
If only we knew that that you would be gone too
If only we knew that was the last time we would see you smile,
If only we knew that was the last time we hugged you,
If only we knew that was the last time we would hear your voice
If only we knew that was the last time we took a picture together….
We would have done anything to get many more of those moments
Our hearts are broken, heavy, crushed and sore
Shattered, grief stricken and laden with sorrow
As the painful reality is sinking in
you left a void too large to fill, as you took a part of us with you
You were gone too soon, never did you let us say goodbye
Little did we know that God was going to call your name
And carry you to heaven so soon to start a life anew on that blissful shore
Devoid of pain and sorrow, with angels dancing around you
You gave us memories to cherish and your love will guide us through
You will be with us in spirit, until we meet again…….
