Shelley Kaye Rieske Million left us way too early at 52 years old after a four year battle with breast cancer. She was a beautiful singer/songwriter who raised her son while singing in Salt Lake City and was loved by many all over the world. In the last five years she came back to her beloved Marco Island, Fl and participated by singing in many charity events. She left behind some beautiful songs and memories, some of which can be found under her name Shelley Million on YouTube. This past year she dedicated her life to raising awareness for breast cancer and the many challenges women face with this disease. She wanted to raise awareness and funding for the people who can't afford to get the care they need in a timely manner when they need it. If she had been able to afford a biopsy when she was diagnosed with a calcium deposit on her breast, she may still be with us today. Her wish was to start a foundation called "3 for Free" which would afford women all over the world 1) an ultrasound, 2) a biopsy if needed and 3) a breast navigator to guide the woman through this process.
She is survived by her many friends, her folks who raised her - Pat Matter (Mom) and Roy Clark (Dad) of Sebring, Fl, her son Shawn Tripp and his wife Emily and children, Colton, Brianna, Carah and MiKaia of Salt Lake City, UT.
A life celebration will be held at Capri Fish House on Saturday, April 30 from 11am - 2pm. There will be a silent auction and donations for kayak and paddle boarding which will go to Avow hospice in Naples, Fl.
