*My Loyal Fan*

I loved you from day one, from the day my sister introduced you as fiance.

Thank you for being there as a father, big brother, Pastor and my Loyal cake fan (you had a sweet tooth).

Papa it feels like you went on one of those trips and you will be back soon. The fact is really heartbreaking but I'm consoled by the truth that I will see you again on resurrection morning.

So enjoy God's presence where there is no pain, sickness, suffering, tears or wickedness.

We love you Papa and you're greatly missed.

I just stop driving, find a suitable place to park the car on a very sunny autumn afternoon. My mobile phone was on the dashboard handing on a mobile dashboard stand with music playing from the phone. I picked up the phone and saw the WhatsApp alert from 19 IGBOUKWU BOYS. I can’t believe this is true. I made several phone calls, they were in the hospital and Pastor Ken confirmed the sad news. I buried myself in the car seat and I was still in doubt. I worked as an associated pastor with Late Rev. Sheriff in the Reigning Word Assembly. His passion and love for God was beyond description. He lived all his life from when I knew him serving God without regret. I learnt he never gave up on God, even in his dying moment. He fought a brave and strong battle. He took each day in stride, never really complained. In all he was going through I learnt he embraces each moment with love and happiness. He never stopped caring for the needy in such a way that they never assumed he had his own battles. I never regretted knowing you. It is indeed sad that you have gone without notice because you have left a great vacuum. If there is one thing you would like to say and I know you will tell everyone going through the deep never to give up. May your gentle and perfect soul rest in peace.

Papa, words fail me cause am human. It's like a bad movie and here am I wishing I could just change the channel. I had heard so much about you before I got to met you. Dotun spoke of you at every opportunity he had, and he had not lied. You were an amazing man,  and when I got honored to met you, we just hit it off. Papa am sorry I didn't spend time with you the last time you came to Calabar . Am sorry I didn't do all the things I should have done. It hurts so much, so much! Yet as a spiritual being, I thank God you are asleep in Him. That gives me joy. Keep resting in Him. Adieu Pastor Sheriff, a great Man, a great man

Saturday, 27th May 2017. You won the battle over sickness, pain, discomfort and all the challenges of this sinful world.

Yes it was victory that morning because you got the crown of Glory.

We'll miss you Papa, so much......but we're consoled that you're in a better place.

We'll always love you my Loyal Fan!
