Wow, I can't believe it. I simply called a number which was disconnected and then learned of Sherry's untimely passing on the web. I haven't lived in San Jose for a long time and haven't spoken to Sherry for many years, but am more saddened then surprised. Would love to hear from Lee. My number is 760/471-8011

Sherry may you rest in peace.... You were a very kind person who loved her dogs and loved her family and was so proud of her baby granddaughter. I will remember your smile and your gentle nature. I'll also never forget the one time you brought me out you pair of old jeans and I didn't believe that they were yours. You shared so many stories with me of your life and I always enjoyed our visits when I came to groom your dogs. They loved you and you loved them. God bless you!

Aunt Sherry,

It has taken a little while to wrap my head around the fact that you aren't here anymore. I will always remember you as being so funny and witty, letting me stay up to watch movies that I probably shouldn't have been watching with Ali and Jenny, and always, always, always, putting family first. Sunday dinners were always so good, not just in food (which goes without saying), but in company. Everybody was always welcome in your home and you made sure that we all knew we were always welcome. You kept us smiling and laughing even when you may have been feeling awful. I will always think of you with a smile and will hold onto the fond memories of a house filled with family, love, craziness and yummy food. And Charles Chips. And Hot Shot. And Boomer and Shotsie ;-). I love you, Aunt Sherry. Rest in Peace.

Love Always,
Tracy

Well, my good friend, so long. I'm struggling with the words to express how much you will be missed. I will have to use my great memories as a fall back position. Great memories of our vacations, our many long weekends in Cambria, the blues cruises, the blues concerts and your Sunday get togethers where all enjoyed your culinary talents. Your smile, your contagious laugh and your open heart for all is a blessing to those of us who knew you can take with us and can smile in return. Goodbye, my friend. We will meet again. Just know you are loved.

Sherry, you were always there as a second mother to me when I was young. I remember practically living at your house and you treated me as another member of the family.

You were always smiling and happy, except the time that Ali and I were toasting bagels and Ali wanted them really toasted, but then they caught fire and as Ali was about to pour a pitcher of water on it, you came running and just unplugged the toaster. It was a good learning experience for me and Ali, on how not to burn the house down.

I love you and will truly miss you. You were an amazing person!

Thank you, Sherry, for welcoming us troublemakers into your home. You let us make lots of noise, swim in your pool, and generally cause a ruckus. You welcomed us with humor and wit, fed us generously, and made our high school years warm and memorable.

Our lives are better for having known you.

I'll miss you and always remember you.

The most valuable gift my mother has ever given me, is my appreciation for family. We are not a religious family, but as a child and teenager, we had to stay home on Sundays. Every sunday morning, the four of us cleaned and cleaned until about noon. Around 1-2, the first wave of guests would begin to show up. Every single Sunday, we had anywhere from 15-30 guests over for dinner/pool/games/hang out. It was never limited to relatives though.... Our family extended to friends and their families. These shindigs would go on until 10 at night.

We have never had the perfect relationship, but I owe my mother all the gratitude in the world for this gift. It's one I miss terribly these days.

I love you mom.
