Nell's Life

February 12, 2021
Nell was born in Loraine Texas in 1949. She grew up in west Texas. Her parents were Ralph (Edell) & Leona (Pearl)Parker. She grew up with 5 siblings; Gene, Duwayne, Bub, Dorothy and Norma. She spent summers in Rosco, Texas at her Granny & Grandads. They later moved to Arlington where she went to school.

She married and had two children, Wes & Cheryl. She later remarried the love of her life Buddy Allen and proudly added two more daughters Lisa and Blinda.

They lived in Mansfield where they built a very successful masonry business. She worked as a waitress for many years and later worked hard with Buddy on the Masonry Co. They were successful enough they retired the company and moved on to Colorado once their kids were older.

Nell and Buddy opened a cafe and Motel that too was a HUGE success. They were particularly good at buying and remodeling homes and businesses.
Some claims to fame are The Brown Burro cafe and the Hand hotel in Fairplay, Colorado.
After almost 20 years in Colorado and meeting many friends there that became family they moved on to Mesquite, Nevada,  Parsons, Kansas and then came full circle back to Texas to reunite permanently with family. She has 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.

Nell found a new love in painting there in Mineola, Texas where she joined the Mineola League of Arts and won some nice ribbons. She loved her family very much and especially her grandbabies.

After a long battle with covid she passed peacefully in hospice where family was able to be with her.
