The years have passed. Some 50 years have passed!
But the kindness, the warmth, the selflessness, the engaging and infectious smile remain, not as a memory but as the impact you made on me as a friend. We reconnected by phone less than a year ago, and despite the ravages of ALS, I knew you were the same. Simeon, you will live on in the hearts of all of us whom you have touched

Special Memorial Tribute to Sim, from his dear friend, Alan 2/15/15.

We all came here today to celebrate the life of Simeon Lee. What can one say about Sim that others have not said before?

Sim and I have been friends for only 5 years but in that short time he has inspired and influenced me in ways that I would never have imagined. I believe that we do not choose our friends they choose us…how lucky for me.

Sim always approached life full of gusto,

Always first for his family and friends.

Always first to greet others with a smile and if lucky a comment using his witty charm

Always first to give of himself whether by giving of his time or through philanthropic means.

Always first on the tee box to encourage his fellow golfers… sometimes again with his witty comments.
.
If I could summarize a motto I would have for Sim :

Family, Love, Laughter, Humility and Humanity

What a role model for others to live ones life by.

As I got closer to the family I saw that this was really a family motto that probably started with his parents and his siblings and now has been passed down to his children and grandchildren and all future generations. This family truly is one the most loving and giving families I have ever met.

Sim always had courage throughout his illness but he always told me that was possible due to family and friends who were always there to allow him his dignity and the ability to be at home surrounded by love and support and to live his life on his own terms. Joyce, Celine, Julie, Arlene, Dick, Tonya, Kevin and everyone of his extended family Sim loved you all for all you did for him. Thank You all for sharing Sim with all of us.

Sim we love you and we will miss you, you made all of our lives better.
This is not goodbye but until we see each other again..

One other thing Sim please remember to yell out fore, not oops or mulligan if you are on the tee box and shank one!  Alan Barry

To my friend, Sim,

"A life so beautifully lived.... A heart so deeply loved"

No words can express the sorrow I feel today.... and more importantly.... no words can adequately define the man that leaves us behind.

In life, he was inspirational... Always listening...Always willing to help... Always offering solid advice...never judgmental, never complaining. A person with integrity and great values.

Sim, I will remember your smile and deep love for your family and friends. I will cherish the times we shared together.

Friends forever,
Larry Cooke

High on my list of favorites are memories of Simeon's kindness and friendship during our high school years at St.G.C. In Kingston, Jamaica. Those memories are deep and indelibly etched.
Sincere condolences to his family.

I was privileged to know Sim from the onset of HCER Senior Golf and considered him as a true friend at all times. A great loss.

Sim was a very dear friend. His departure is a great loss and he will be sorely missed. The emptiness will be hard. My heartfelt sympathies are with his wife, Joyce, and his sisters, Julie, Celine and Pepper, who looked after him till his last moments, and to all his children and relatives, for I know he was loved by all of them.
Sim was a great golf buddy. When we had an outing to Maumee Bay, I told Sim we would be perfect for sharing a room because he was hard of hearing and I snored. We had two wonderful outings there.
He helped me with my house search in 2013 and 2014 until he could no longer show homes because of his deteriorating condition. He always had my best interest at heart rather than just try to make a sale.
He was a man of principle. He was a great friend. I will miss him.
