The daughter of Eddie E. and Annie Brimlett Anderson of Columbus, Sonya was born at Blythesville AFB, AR and was a 1982 graduate of Hardaway High School. She received her Bachelor and Masters Degrees from the University of Phoenix, and was employed with Health Information Designs in Auburn, AL. Sonya was a United States Air Force Veteran. 

Surviving her departure with cherished memories are: her beloved son, Anthony Anderson-Dewitt; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie E. Anderson;a brother, John Anderson (Yashica); two nephews, a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
