Even though you didn't talk much when I knew you in high school, I can still see your coy/up to no good smile that you would have on your face when I'd pester you to try to get you to talk. It's been 6 years already and it feels like yesterday that we lined the streets of Plattsmouth to pay tribute and honor our hometown hero. You live on through your legacy of taking no shit and living life the way you wanted to. I will always take great pride in the fact that I went to school with such a badass like you who was willing to risk it all for our nation and our freedom. Not a day goes by where you're not honored or remembered in one way or another. I never miss an opportunity to speak your name and I still have the flag that I held in your honor the day of your funeral, it has been folded and will always remind me of you and your family's sacrifice.
