Stanley Gene Mitchell, 62, of Dayton, Ohio went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton after a short illness. He was born April 17, 1958 in Mullens, West Virginia he was the son of Clarence and Nellie Mitchell, Patricia Morgan and Bill Bradford. Stanley was a retired coal miner from US Steel. He enjoyed singing and preaching the gospel, hunting, fishing, and gardening. Over the years, he was a coach for children's basketball, Sunday School teacher, Youth Leader and driver of the church van. He was a well respected that loved God, his wife, his family, friends, and his dog Titus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers Howard, Ray, Jimmy, and Benny Bailey. Six sisters Donniejean Graham, Velma McCoy, Carolyn Stacy, Sharon Ritter, Nadean Browning, and Debbie Fodor and his step-mom, Verlean Bradford. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 7 years, Sandy Hamner Mitchell; his children, Amanda (David) Dickerson of Hillsville, Virginia, Jessica (Issac) Sayers of Hillsville, Virginia, Andrea (Matt) Mitchell of Indian Creek, Whitney (Joe) Bishop of Welch, Sarah, Rebecca, Joshua, Gene, and Jacob (Tiffany) Carr all of Dayton, Ohio; a brother, Billy (Brenda) Bradford of Fairborn, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, Jasper, Bethanie, and Gracelynn Mitchell, Layla Bishop, Anna and Chloe Spitler, Alex, Eriq, Lilly, Daisy, Violet, and Mikayla Carr; two special nephews, Mike McCoy of Brenton, West Virginia and Christopher Barnette of Norton, Virginia; four close friends, Mike Petrella of New Carlise, Ohio and Tommy West of Indian Creek, Rick McCoy and Mike Lane and a host of other loving family and friends.
