The Life lived by Stepan Petrovich Pegov

March 1, 2019
Stephen Pegov was born on December 9th, 1907 in Syzran, Russia (Soviet Union). At a young age, he started working at a Newspaper Company. In 1930, he became a soldier in the Red Army. And, in 1933, he graduated from Artillery College, and since then he was serving a role in the Russian Army. Before the Second World War really got going, he was serving in VARIOUS REGIONS IN RUSSIA. Since 1938, HE WAS IN THE EASTERN PART OF RUSSIA. When the second World War Started in 1941, his military group had initially been transferred to the War Front. He served his role as a soldier in the war until the day of victory came to an end, in May of 1945. After the Second World War, He was living in Western Ukraine and was teaching a course of artillery in Military College, before his retirement. Stephen had a medal of the Red Star SUVOROV and KUTUZOV Medal, including Medals from Poland, Czech Republic, and other European Countries. On May 28th,2001 My Great-Grandfather passed away at the age of 93, from an old age. His Medals are displayed in the home of my Grandparents for over 20 years.I knew about him, from the conversation with my Mother and Grandfather (His son), telling me that he fought in the World War. He made a great Contribution while fighting against Hitler’s Army, and he is a true hero (in my opinion) of his own country, and the whole World, including Europe. Knowing about him, I will pass my knowledge about him to my future children and Grandchildren in the future. I am very proud, to have my Great-Grandfather as a hero, fighting in the Second World War (1939-1941).
