Steph, No one who ever met you could doubt your sincere nature and your "tell it like it is" way of coming to a point. Among the last things you said to me last September, as I 'prattled on about nothing of much interest', was a quick "shot up old man". Which I did, Then I caught that rye smile at the corner of your eyes, and knew you were just poking fun as you enjoyed the sun on your back deck. You just wanted a little quiet with it as well. The last thing you said to me in January, again as you were enjoying the wonderful sun on your face was "how much you loved Steve and were sorry to go like this. But it was time, soon". I later told Steve what you said and big tears welled up in his eyes, But he held it in as he always does, and then said he was glad I was there to see you. I told him "I knew and you knew" he was doing all he could do. Life is just damned hard at times!
Later, in early February, I told Steve of a quote I found in 1986 on a small memorial to lost coal miners in Louisville, CO. "As long as you remember a persons' name, they are not dead and gone, but live on in the hearts of those who remember them and love them".
I read that quote at my Mothers' Memorial service in 2001.
I will remember your name, Stephanie Ramsey (Gunther), as long as I live. All Best and I love you, Dad
