When i arrived  in Korea in 1988 as  regional manager I quickly learned from the ship yards and DNV staff that Svein was dearly missed after returning to Norway some years before.

He was particularly valued for his deep technical competence and ability to make decisions that were accepted by both the yards and the owners.


I therefore urged him to rewturn to Korea  - and he quickly accepted.


At his arrival, DSME arranged a great welcome back party - which  I believe was quite unique. 


I really enjoyed working with Svein and learn from his special competence on how to accomodate to the Korean  and their shipyard culture 


Allthough we knew that he was very ill, it was really sad to understand that he is no longer with us .
