Hello, Mom. It is the 8th anniversary of your passing and it seems like so much more time has passed. Or none at all.
Peggy and I moved out to Connecticut this June past to be close to the grandkids and even though it has been challenging at times to live in another town and state, we have both loved being a part of their young lives. And they seemed to appreciate us being here, too.
We got to watch young William learn to walk and now he is everywhere and into everything. His smiles and laughter are infectious and he is ever stingy with his hugs.
River is growing up quickly and a delight in so many ways. She sings while she plays and she will pull us in to her play effortlessly. (I am much better at being a grandpa than I would've imagined.)
Peggy retired, but is still wanting to work. I am getting close to retiring, but not just yet. There are still things to do and get paid for. ;-)
You know, I think you might like it here. The summer was hot and muggy and we ran the AC constantly, but the fall has been some kind of special. The rains came and the leaves put on a show.
We planted more than 20 plants from the Home Depot in the huge front beds. They had the awesome sale on perennials and we went kinda nuts. I also planted 25 daffodils and 40 tulips in the bed right along the driveway. I'm hoping they don't get dug up and consumed by any critters.
Paul says the winters are harder here because of the lack of light. We shall see how that is. We will need to get out and explore more. As a safety hatch we have a week in Sedona, Arizona planned in January. And Peg wants to do a beach and Italy in the near future.
Take care and tell everyone there that I am thinking of them. Preserving their memories. And making them immortal.
Love, Bruce
