My Brother ~ My Mentor

January 22, 2019

Too many fond memories, not enough space to document it all. Timmy was a brother, a father, a mentor, a diffuser. A kind spirit that could make you smile, laugh even in the worse of your troubling days. Two fond memories stick in my head as I reminisce with a laugh and tears at the same time. In the early 70’s when Timmy was dating Debra Klein (Simms) out of High School and working: Tim came home from work on one particular day and me and Mitchell surprised Timmy with a FM Converter for his 68 Plymouth Road Runner, he was overwhelmed and couldn’t thank us enough…nevertheless he was now in tune to WKTK and other rock station. One thing I guess no one knew about Timmy was he had an excellent medical background in fighting a flu, let me explain; When Johnny, Timmy, Jerry and Lou Vinup occupied a rental property at 510 Fairmount Avenue, Towson MD a heavy snow storm fell that winter and we all contracted the Flu. Timmy came up with the idea on how to fight the flu with plenty of Vodka and Orange Juice….we were the happiest flu victims that year. The list is endless with laughs, pranks, etc., but receiving that call Thursday of an unexpected lost, felt like a rib being torn from my chest. I’ll forever remember you TK…

Uncle Timmy - from Teresa Taylor

To me he is my Uncle Timmy!!!  I grew up with him along with the other 4 youngest uncles.  Trust me when I say, I had the best childhood ever, between my mom, aunt Angie, and my uncles.  Timmy was one of 5 pack, that yes, use to get us in trouble all the time with my mom, and when my mom finally got the truth, they were quickly gone (I still today, love thinking about all the fun I had as a kid growing up with them).  One of many memories I have, my uncles were babysitting us and we were watching The Fog, my uncles went and hit the main power switch in the house, and the whole house went dark and us kids were running around screaming like a bunch of fools!!!  Needless to say my momma was walking down Joppa Rd. towards the house and all she heard was us kids screaming, and she started running to the house thinking something horrible has happened, to find out my uncles were up to no good again!!!  Uncle Timmy thank you for all the memories, a great childhood and especially an uncle I can seriously call a Friend.  I often say, who needs friends when you blessed with a family like I have.  RIP and love you.
