Todd's Celebration of Life will be Saturday, June 24th, 2017 at 1:00 pm at The American Legion Hall in Cannon Beach:  1216 S. Hemlock Street.  Hope to see you there and love to all.  Please RSVP to Jan Groff at 503-320-1421.  Texts preferred.

This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Todd Phillip Groff, 64, born on May 7, 1953 and passed away on May 17, 2017.

Todd lived a well-traveled life and taught us all to do the same.  He was an avid Harley-Davidson lover and enjoyed cruising the miles and taking in the beauty around him.  He was:  A beloved son, brother, uncle and teacher, a musician, an artist, an actor, lover of golf and travel. He enjoyed many beautiful friendships and was deeply loved by his family - and will be for eternity.

His inspiring life reminds us all to live ours to the fullest - taking no moment for granted.

He is survived by his sister, Jan Groff and his brother, Brad Groff.  He was ecstatically greeted in Heaven by his dad Jack, his mom Peggy, and two of his sisters, Gay and Robin, and also his soul-mate Kathy.

We will remember him forever.  This was one of his favorite quotes:

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."  Mark Twain

Keep discovering sweet Todd.  Your journey has just begun.

Love to all and thanks for visiting.

"Todd - your picture hangs on the wall behind me every night and I will make sure your brother is never lonely. He and I will be the last of the Mahicans for our families. Enjoy heaven and stop by the house any time ..... we feel you when you do! Thanks for your jovial presence and good sense of humor!"

Todd - goodbye my childhood friend. I know I will see you again. I have always looked up to you and I want you to know that you were the first boy I had a crush on. You were and always have been nice to me and there was something in your soul and heart that I adored and loved. You will forever be in my prayers and memories. When I think back and remember you playing the guitar it still makes my heart beat faster. You are now with our King and he will take good care of you. Goodbye for now. See you in Heaven! Love forever Sheryl

Mr. Groff was my 4th grade teacher at Helen Haller in Sequim, WA. He made a huge impact on my love for learning and reading. I have so many fond memories of 4th grade. My son will be a 4th grader next year and I can only hope that his teacher leaves even a small amount of impressions on him as Mr. Groff did for me. I thought of Mr. Groff often and just two days ago wondered if I could find him on the world of Facebook. I'm deeply sadden to find that he has passed. I wish that I could have had the chance to tell him how much his teaching meant to me.

My favorite teacher. I had him for 3rd grade in Sequim, WA. Taught me my love of Simon and Garfunkel and Peter, Paul and Mary. Instilled in me at that early age that we don't need to divide people. We had "people" lines vs boy/girl lines to go places. Was a great volleyball coach. Was so happy to reconnect via Facebook and see that side of him that I had not been privy to. RIP and enjoy the next journey as much as you did this one!

Todd - you are a one-of-a-kind light. We will meet again I am certain and I will count the moments...thanks for changing me for the better. You always made me feel like the only person in the room when we were talking. Not many have that very special gift. You taught me to understand how each and every moment with others is precious and to be cherished - thank you so much - knowing that changes everything. Love you always...
