His Life

Tommie Tucker, Jr. entered this life on January 14th, 1936, the first of three sons born to proud parents Tommie Sr. and Elizabeth Tucker. Better known to the world as “Junior or TT”; Junior was blessed to be reared in a household that knew the Lord; a gift of a relationship with Christ that would grow into one that truly sustained him through some of his greatest challenges in his later years. A member of Haven Memorial United Methodist Church of Alexander City, AL; Junior allowed his light to shine, blessing many and receiving blessings and much love in return.

Renowned for being a humble, honest, hard working man; Junior spent 34 years employed at Flavorich (Dairy Company) only retiring in order to take care of his elderly mother and to continue to be a hard working man on several other jobs and ventures. Junior demonstrated the enduring depth of his love with the love his gave to his two sons Thomas A. Oliver of Atlanta, GA and Rodney B. Oliver of Alexander City, Al. – both of whom are most grateful for that love, life lesions and joyful memories they shared. He demonstrated his love to family, friends, associates and strangers that were fortunate enough to encounter his light.

Mr. Tucker’s flight departed this life on August 11th, 2015. The Love that he shared has been left as a joyful memory to those that he has left behind: His brother Homer Tucker, sister-in-law Aida Tucker - both of Evanston Illinois. Stepchildren: Larry Crabb, Debra (Roscoe) Purter, Patricia Benson, John Shealey – all of Alexander City, Al. Significant loved one – Shirley Russell; special cousin – Juliet Davis. A host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members, friends and acquaintances. He was preceded in death by his loving baby brother – Joseph Tucker and sister-in-law Louise Tucker both of Evanston Illinois and Thomas & Rodney’s beloved mother – Annie M. Oliver.
