Her Life
August 14, 2022
Olatoyosi Aina Oriyomi was born on May 24, 1962 to Deacon Abraham Oladunwo Oriyomi and Mrs. Rachel Simisola Oriyomi (nee Coker) in Lagos Nigeria. For her education she attended Reagan Memorial Baptist Primary School, Reagan Memorial Baptist Secondary School, Federal Government College- Bida, Niger State for post Secondary education then London Business School in the United Kingdom and graduated with a diploma in Secretarial and Management studies in 1984.

Olatoyosi Oriyomi started her career working in the private sector before relocating to the United States of America. Upon arriving in the United States in 1989, where she served as the Executive Secretary at the Nigerian Embassy in Washington for about five years. Toyosi was always known and praised for her culinary skills from her early days. She left paid employment with Howard University in 2001 to pursue her passion in catering as an entrepreneur. That is the genesis of Shiloh Catering Services. which began as a hobby from the basement of her home and gradually grew into the “go to” establishment for Nigerian cuisine. Specializing in corporate and private parties, she expanded her culinary offerings across continents.
Those closest to “mama”, as she was fondly called by her children, all describe her as kind, generous, and full of humor…nothing was too big for her to give way. Mama would give the shirt off her back to anyone who needed it. She was hardworking, fierce, and passionate. Her greatest love in life was easing the pain and putting a smile of those around her. She was independent, and a woman of strong Christian faith. Though that faith was tested a few times in the last few years of her life, she never wavered. She remained steadfast till the very end. Full of grace and dignity, she had such an impact on everyone around her; even her laugh would light up any room.
Mama, your presence was deeply felt by all and this loss is almost too much to bear. We take solace in knowing you are in a better place where you no longer have to deal with pain and anguish. We miss you sister. Your memory and legacy lives on in our hearts.
Toyosi is survived by her siblings, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and so many who loved her dearly.
Rest on Beloved!!
