What if we never knew you? We would not feel your loss. Yet, I would still choose the joy of knowing and loving you. Today is your birthday my dearest baby sister, you were indeed a phenomenal woman. Your beautiful memories and spirit continue to light up our lives. Just last week I was sharing with someone the miracle of your last two years with us. The things you were able to do defied every prognosis. And while we always made the most of family gatherings we made sure to enjoy your last years with us. We did our best to make every moment count. Our increased family trips across Belize were activity filled and you did not sit and watch. You swam, kayaked, danced, laughed, sang. Yes, while we prayed with all our might that we would grow old together, we are grateful for the years we were blessed with your life and especially your last two years with us. We thanked and praised God for it and our family gatherings always ended with a joyful noise unto the Lord. We remain grateful and blessed. In your memory we continue to “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!” for your life, the lives of all our other family members who have left us, and those who are with us now. I was thinking that if you were here you would have found a way around COVID-19 to at least get us to sing this song together via virtual media. Maybe one of your nieces could take on this task.
