Virginia Adcock Vaughan, 68, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at her home.
A native of Granville County, the daughter of the Robert David and Annie Laura Murray Adcock. She was a member of Delrayno Baptist Church and was a hairdresser in Oxford and Creedmoor for over thirty years.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 28, 2014 in the Eakes Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford by the Rev. James C. Shelley and Dr. Bob Rhoden. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Surviving are her husband of forty-nine years, Frank S. Vaughan, Jr., of the home, three sisters; Ila Mae Adcock Mathews, Lucy Marie A. Woodlief (Kenneth), Carolyn A. Williamson, all of Oxford, one brother, Robert “Buster” D. Adcock, Jr. (Kathy) of Oxford, nieces; Cathy Hasty, Shana Adcock, Kimberly Adcock, Kimberly Vaughn, Amanda Vaughan and nephews; Greg Williamson, Dale Mathews, Mark Woodlief, Craig Vaughan, Jeff Vaughan, Rev. Mark Vaughan and Zackery, Jacob and Joseph Johnston.
Flowers are accepted or contributions can be made to the Cripple Children’s Shriners Hospital, 950 West Faris Rd., Greenville, South Carolina, 29605.
Visitation will be held Saturday evening September 27, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times the home.
