My parents, Harvey and Mildred Venson, who migrated from NJ to DC to attend Howard University in the late 1930’s have nicknamed Virginia, Virgie, and since our birth, we have always referred to her as Virgie. She has been in my life since infancy and played the role of adopted mother and Grandma Virgie to my children. After many visits to each other throughout the years to Riverside Drive NY, to her place in upper state NY to DC, we became even closer. When I married and had children, she would come to DC and spend weeks at a time participating in family activities, showing us how to start a garden and how to prepare food using a Wok. We shared many stories about our travels and especially our experiences in Africa. We will truly miss her voice, smile, laughter and playfulness. Rest in peace, beloved. You will never be forgotten. You will live forever in our hearts.Love forever and always, Jo Bonney and children-Tabi, Zelle, Elitcha; sisters-Linda, Joyce, Sheila; brother, Mark
