I had the pleasure of serving with Wallace in the North Carolina National Guard back in the 1970's and 80's at the 730th Maintenance Battalion in Butner. He was a very good soldier and served his Country proudly. He spoke often of the love he had for you all, and family time together. We also served together in the Lord Granville Agriculture Heritage Association (Granville County Tractor Club) of which he was a 2006 charter member. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks ahead.

Today we remember not only the man who died, but also, he who led an honorable life. In our hearts are the memories of your husband and father. We may never fathom how difficult the loss is for you, please be assured that you are in our thoughts, and his soul in our prayers. It was an honor and a privilege to have known such a great man and I will truly miss him!.

Jean...Even in times like this when hearts are heavy, God is still a Good God. Weeping may Endure for a night, but there will be Joy in the Morning. God is Still In Control.
Love Always,
Gloria

Jean, Angie, Kelly and family I know that the memories of the life Wallace shared with you are painful and hard to bear. But, I encourage you to hold on to them because the time will come that they will be a part of your life's greatest treasures. And at sometime in the future, on a quiet evening looking at a beautiful sunset you will turn again to those memories and be able to smile as you rejoice in the memory of the life you shared with Wallace. Florence and I will always treasure the four years that we had to share with you and him when we lived in Stem. (1979-1983)

Grace and Peace,
Leon and Florence

Jean, Angie and Kelly I am heartbroken to hear about the passing of Wallace.  Jean I will never forget all those years ago on that bitter cold Christmas Eve when Wallace helped me to get into my home.  Deena was just a toddler.  I stepped outside the door to get something and it slammed shut and locked.   I was so scared and you and Wallace did not hesitate for one second to help me.   I send you all my love and prayers for peace and comfort during this very difficult time.
