I met Wanda only a few years before her death, so have little to add. She was living at Lancaster Village with Lloyd and ate meals at the same table as my friend, Joseph. Wanda and Lloyd were very nice to Joseph and helped make his days much more pleasant. Wanda was so sweet to Joseph and to me when I visited that, when Wanda moved to another home, Joseph asked if he could visit her. The idea of seeing Wanda and her daughter Donna gave Joseph great joy and it was wonderful for him to have them visit. After Joseph’s death I got to visit Wanda a number of times. She was always kind, interested and interesting. She was the quality of person I would like to have as a neighbor and friend. Lloyd Kumley

I first met Wanda in 1964 when I became friends with Donna and Diane. I was frequently over at the 5th street house. She always made me feel welcome, always had a kind or encouraging word, and provided a home that was warm and safe. She treated me like a member of her family, always welcome. She will always have a warm place in my heart. John Collins

When I think of Wanda I remember a very gracious woman. Her countenance exuded grace. Her gentle smile and kind nature spoke volumes about her loving character. She was a wonderful role model for her children and grandchildren. Always loving, caring, and eager to share an encouraging word. She will be greatly missed as she was loved...

A big hug to this wonderful family,

Wanda was a member of the Group Wellness Class that I facilitate at Northwest Rehab Associates. She was usually very quiet, very focused on getting her work done and then she would break out in the most glorious smile that just made everything just right. She is very missed by all the members of the group. We all feel so fortunate to get to have some of the last jam she made with Donna. It is sweet and yummy. We will all remember you fondly Wanda with that sweet smile in our thoughts

I miss my mom....Should probably allow Diane to share this but I would like to share what Diane observed as she walked into moms room the day before her passing. Diane walked in and mom had a glow around her head and on her face and Diane said mom... you look radiant and beautiful... Mom opened her eyes and looked "beyond and past " Diane and extended her arms as if she was welcoming some one and said... 'Well hello"! I find this welcome mom experienced as very reassuring. Jesus is kind , encouraging and welcoming!

I will miss Wanda's kindness and the twinkle in her eyes! She taught us all many beautiful lessons in her transition. I wish all of the family to continue to be embraced by the love she shared. May there be much healing during this time of gathering and remembering Wanda. May the inspiration of her life uplift and nurture you forever.
