Her Life
October 6, 2011

Wanemah June (Heiskill) Harmatiuk, wife of Andrew Harmatiuk, died on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2001 at Ledgeweeod Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Beverly, MA after a long illness.

June was born in Oklahoma, daughter of the late William “Jake” and Alva Heiskill.  June was a resident of Beverly for the past eight years and was formerly a long time resident of Bernardsville, NJ.

June was an active member of the Women’s Association of Morristown Memorial Hospital for many years.  She participated in Mansion in May fund raisers for the hospital, worked in the coffee shop, and was instrumental in starting the baby car seat program.  June was past Club Champion at the Mendham Golf & Tennis Club, and spent many happy hours chasing the little white ball around the golf course.  She was an excellent cook, superlative seamstress (she made 2 wedding gowns!), consummate mother and perfect grandmother.

June is survived by her husband of 65 years (!), Andy; two daughters, Vickie Cataldo and her husband, Michael of Essex, MA; and Karen Gumaer and her husband Peter, of Campbell, CA; and five grandchildren; Alyssa Miller and her husband Julian; Andrew Cataldo, Emily, Alison & Nick Gumaer.  She is also survived by her “adopted” daughter Halina Okla of Morristown, NJ.

Contributions may be made in her name to The Women’s Association of Morristown Memorial Hospital or to Planned Parenthood.
