His Life
August 22, 2017

Mr. Collum was born August 3, 1942 in Elizabethtown, NC to the late Wesley Daniel Collum, Sr. and Evelyn Pauline Bordeaux Collum. He was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church.

He was a dedicated mechanic and took great pride in his work. This served him well while serving the Heard County and Troup County School Systems in the maintenance shop. He made sure that the buses and vehicles transporting students on a daily basis were safe and ready for the road.

In his spare time, he loved to visit yard sales and flea markets. He went to many across West Georgia and East Alabama looking for hidden treasures.

He also enjoyed going fishing. The best part was taking the catch home and cooking them for supper. Like any good Southerner, he loved to drink sweet tea. To top off the meal, he liked to bake delicious cakes for dessert.

Survivors include: his wife, Cindy Collum; five sons: Michael Wayne Collum, Jeffery Scott Collum, Ricky Daniel Collum, Kenneth Eugene Collum, and James Clayton Smith; eight grandchildren; one sister, Betty Lou Davis (Bizzle); one brother, J. T. Collum; special friends: Randy and Crystal Bagley, their daughter, Karen, and families; and a number of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a wife, Delores Ann Collum; two sisters: Barbara Ann Hester and Pauline Autry; and one brother, David Earl Collum.
