Bill, you've been gone a year but are not forgotten. Our friendship was kindled as Wood Valley neighbors in the community bridge group more than 30 years ago. We discovered that we both had enjoyed most of Michener's books and that got us started. One night at Wildflower Pizza
we talked about biking together as you were looking for a way to get exercise without damaging your knees by running. Over the years we had many deep conversations as we biked across NC, Iowa, Florida, Maine, Pennsylvania and numerous other stretches of American pavement. We also hiked the hills above Queenstown, NZ.
You left me many reminders of our good times together (canoe, bike, coat, etc.) but most of all you left dear Rosie whom we continue to enjoy regularly. You would be so happy for her that her Big Blue Wolverines are playing for a national basketball championship tonight. Why, I'm sure you'll break down and cheer for them from some special spot in your corner of Heaven.
