William Kenneth Lewellyn II a.k.a. Bill
               (January 25, 1961- June 16, 2020)

On Tuesday, June 16, 2020, loving husband and father to two beautiful children, passed away after a lengthy, courageous battle with Alzheimer's.
Bill was born on January 25, 1961, in Covina, CA, to William and Anna Lewellyn. He attended Rowland High School, Mt. San Antonio College, and Monterey Peninsula College. Bill joined the U.S. Army in 1980, and was proud to serve in Active Duty and Reserves as a Medic for 30+ years. As a civilian, Bill continued his work in the medical field and as a small business owner. On June 16, 1990, he married the love of his life, Melanie Inada Lewellyn. Together they raised their two beautiful children, their daughter Leilani, and their son William III (Tre’).

Bill was an award-winning surfer and skimboarder, an accomplished gymnast, a talented Polynesian & Fire Knife dancer, snowboarder, skateboarder, wakeboarder, fisherman, but his greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. He lived each and every moment with exuberance, living a full life in the short time he was with us. He would always say, ”Work hard, play hard.” And he did. He walked with a confident stride and his laugh was thunderous. Some may say that his laugh was so loud it would fill the entire house, the neighbors house, the yard, and the street on the other side of the driveway. You get the idea.

Bill was known for his playful spirit, zest for life, his faith, compassion, and the way he loved his family. He would light up any room with the joy in his heart. His life and the way he loved epitomized Joie de vivre!  It was natural for us to look up to him, he was and always will be our hero. These are the memories we will cherish forever.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, William K. Lewellyn, Sr.. He is survived by his wife Melanie, his two children, Leilani and William III (Tre’), his mother, Anna Lewellyn, his sister, Delores Bautista, his brother, James Lewellyn, Uncle Bill, Aunt Jean, Aunt Carol, and many cousins and niece and nephews.
Please join our family for Bill's Memorial Service on Sunday, June 27th at 12:30pm, at Compass Church, 830 Padre Drive, Salinas, CA. A reception will follow on site.
