William Monroe Wheeler, of Bahama in Durham County, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Universal Health Care in Oxford.

A native of Durham County, he was the son of the late Macon Wheeler and Dolores Hall. He was of the Baptist faith and a retired fireman with the Durham Fire Department.

Services will be private.

Surviving are his sister, Nancy Wheeler Mangum and husband Kenneth Mangum of Bahama.

So sorry to hear of William's passing. Have known him most of my life. We answered many fire calls when I was with Bahama Fire Dept. and William and Carl Veasey were on the county truck from Durham. We have shared many laughs together. Please accept my deepest sympathy to the family.

I was very sadden to hear of the loss of Will today. I am one of Helen's sons and wanted to extend to the whole Wheeler family my heartfelt condolence.

So sorry to hear of Will's passing. I knew him most of my life, growing up, and also working with him at Durham Fire Dept. My deepest sympathy to the family.
