Thinking of my dear friend and his beautiful wife, Tory, today. Full of gratitude for our friendship and for wonderful memories of time spent together. Looking forward to creating fresh memories with Tory this year.
Tory, I hope you will see this ! I had every intention of coming to the Memorial in Ridgewood , but at the last minute my Son needed to me do something for him. I am sorry I missed it. In case you don`t have my email joebusheypainting@hotmail.com. Please keep in touch. I hope you are well!
Bill crafted beauty in diverse and numerous ways, through singing, designing decks and landscapes, creating stained glass, and, most of all, through his love for Tory. I can still hear the sound of his laughter, see the wonder of his smile, and feel the warmth of his love and companionship for me, Mark, and Lindsay over the last 35 years. His voice will be remembered . . .
Bill was my mentor and friend when I joined West Side Presbyterian Church Choir. Bill took me under his wing and I've been a better Tenor since. I will deeply miss this man and look forward to singing with him again when I gain my reward. For Joyce and me, Bill and Tory were both a blessing and great friends. We both will miss Bill dearly and Tory and Bill's family will be in our heartfelt prayers.
I met Bill and Tory when I came to work at West Side Presbyterian Church...Tory was chair of Personnel and one of the people responsible for bringing me here. Once on staff, Bill and Tory really took me under their wing, inviting me to their home for dinner and providing me with any information I needed to make my job easier. Bill was the kind of gentleman who, rather than simply pay a compliment in passing, would actually take the time to write a personal note. There was something very kind and sweet and old-fashioned about him that drew people to him. Thank you for sharing him with all of us, Tory.
Bill and Tory are one of the most devoted couples I've ever met. Dear sweet people who loved each other to the core. Tory - May the love all of us have for you help to fill your void. Huge hugs, Wendy
I met Tory and Bill in 1986 at their home in Oradell when I was asked to paint the exterior of their house, which was the first of many projects we collaborated on over 20+ years. They were true lovers of restoration of older historical homes and gardening. They both enjoyed getting their hands dirty and very competent in doing so. I am sorry Tory for your loss, but glad he isn't suffering any more
Bill and I met after he moved to Cville. We worked briefly on a church committee at First Presbyterian. Even though he was ill, I enjoyed having his thoughtful comments. I am glad he suffers no more.
Bill and I met many, many years ago when we both worked at Chemical Bank in NYC and quickly became fast friends. Shortly thereafter, I happily met Tory. Through the years I've been lucky enough to share a meaningful and delightful friendship with both. Tory, you and Bill are both in my hearts and in my prayers. What a wonderful love you share with each other -- and with each of us.
Dick and I met Bill and Tory at West Side Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood, NJ., and then they moved. Every time we visited our sons in North Carolina, we would make a side trip to C'ville to visit the Blackfords. We developed a wonderful friendship, enjoyed several holidays, and we will miss Bill so very much. We will continue to support and visit Tory.
From early childhood, when Bill was a real red head, into adulthood Bill always did some things so well I was always an admirer. I am glad he is out of pain, but I will miss him at our next family gathering. God speed and best wishes to Tory.
