His Life

The son of the late Willie, Sr. and Nettie Hudson Walker, Mr. Walker was born in Cataula, GA on July 15, 1943. He was a 1961 graduate of Carver High School in Cataula, and attended Albany State College. He was also a graduate of Columbus Technical College. Mr. Walker was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Hamilton, GA where he served as a Deacon and was a member of the Male Choir and Starlight Ministry. He was retired following 30 years as a Programmer with TSYS, Inc. He served as a volunteer with the Columbus Library, and was a proud band parent with the Carver Tigers and the Kendrick Cherokee Bands. His hobby was deep sea fishing.


Survivors include: his wife of 39 years, Mrs. Audrey Dewberry Walker; two children, Justin L. Walker and Jennifer M. Walker; one brother, Jacob Walker (Linda); two sisters, Annie L. Walker and Dorothy Marshall (Curtis); his father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Frank and Daisy Dewberry; loving in-laws, Carolyn Parker (Rev. Kenneth), Susie Green (Mark) and Amanda Palmer (Steve);a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
