Dear Jan, Wendy, Judy and Willie,

I'll be thinking of you all today. It's hard to believe an entire year has passed. Please know you are in my thoughts.

With Love, Megan

Jan, I will always remember how nice your Mother was to me during the holidays and made sure I received my share of her special fruitcakes.

Dear Jan, Wendy, Judy and Willie,

Aunt Wilma's service last Saturday at Uncle Dan's was so perfect in her memory. Thank you for arranging it. We will all miss Aunt Wilma.

With Love,

Dear Wilma,
I miss my next door neighbor who tossed her newspaper to my porch every single morning for years, left me loving notes for various reasons, (and often to be sure I knew where she was going and when she'd be back so I wouldn't worry), and explained all the shrubs and flowers to me. When my picture showed up on the front page after I was arrested at an anti-war vigil, I thought, "Oh, no, what will Wilma think"? But she left me a note "Your friends will stand behind you. Love, Wilma." Well, Wilma, I love you too. Godspeed, dear lady.

As a gardener I chose a flower for Wilma. I have fond memories of talking with her as she went about maintaining the grounds at Orchard Terrace, occasionally giving me gardening advice, and an the extra plant or cutting. I also had several wonderful, gracious afternoons sharing tea and cookies with Wilma and my mother in law, Lucille Mendenhall who lived at Orchard Terrace for many years.

The Roeder Quilters were privileged to know Wilma for many years. What a great smile she gave us! We quilted together, laughed together, solved all the world's problems, and enjoyed one another's weekly company. She'd share cherries after a trip to Eastern Washington and baked us pies and cookies. (A favorite was her blueberry pie after she'd hiked near Mt. Baker. What a brave woman she was to go on those hikes!) She loved volunteering at Wise Buys and left our meetings early so she'd not be late. Our group was once over a dozen in number. Now there are only five of us left. Her energy was unstoppable. She was a good friend. We will all miss her. On behalf of the Roeder Quilters (who don't use computers much!), please accept our sincere sympathy,

Kim Radder for Faye Myers, Esther Schemstad, Lois Byrd, and Teresa Gelder.

Aunt Wilma was a beautiful woman inside and out. Next to my mom, she baked the best pies ever! Jan, Wendy, Judy, and Willie -- we are so sorry for your loss.
