Mr. Winifred Anthony “Tony” Leigh, age 58, born November 15, 1961, the youngest of eight children, went home to be with the Lord on November 8, 2020.
Tony confessed Christ and was a member of Garden of Faith Church of God in Christ. He was educated in the Dayton Public School System at Highview Elementary and Dunbar High School, class of 1980. He served proudly in the United States Marine Corps. Tony was a loyal, well known and much-loved employee of Macy’s and Maddox Enterprise.
He was affectionately known to many as “Uncle Bone” a name given to him by his beloved special nephew Ryan Maddox. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo, Estella Ruth Leigh and brother Alonzo C. Leigh of Dayton, Ohio. He leaves to cherish in his memory two brothers, Rodney (Patricia) Leigh, Gary (Angela) Leigh and four sisters Mary L. Arnold, Johnnie R, Leigh- Maddox, Deborah Leigh-Barr (Richard) and Diane L. (Lyle) Cole. And a host of cousins and friends.
Tony had no biological children but claimed and loved his nieces and nephews as his own. I am sure they all have their own memories of his love and kindness that he showed towards them. Uncle Bone “Tony” will be greatly missed by many for his jokes and many sayings like, “I do what I do” and “Count it all Joy”.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Garden of Faith Church (5326 North Main Street). Visitation will begin at 11:00am with service to follow at 12:00pm. Interment West Memory Gardens.
