Red Chevy

July 22, 2020
For as long as I’ve known Woodrow Cook Jr he’s been at tall friendly gentlemen with a Million dollar smile. But I guess anyone that met or knew Woody could say the same...classic Woody. But it was Woody’s car that first caught my attention. Woody came to Birmingham driving a red 1961 Chevy Impala convertible. So funny now as I think back to that time how Woody and his car seemed a perfect fit...a smooth ride for a smooth young man! I wanted to ride in his Chevy as often as I had the opportunity. Woody was always happy to oblige.  From that time to this moment we have lifelong friends. But more than that, we became brothers. I will truly miss my dear brother Woody his smile his wit his candor his faithfulness. Until I see you again old friend.

Woody the Helper

July 21, 2020
I didn’t even know who Woody was or his name when he first started helping me back in the early 2000s. I was the Librarian for Ephesus Jr Academy and Woody was well...the helper. He was always helping out at the school in some way. We mostly worked together in the area of technology and information systems. Since we didn’t have much money back then we had to improvise and be very creative. Our solutions were probably borderline illegalbut Woody would always make it do what it do. He was the best and we were so very blessed to have him at our school helping out for DECADES! He will be missed on so many levels. What a legacy he has left for his family. Never forgotten
