Shocked and saddened to find this information. I wasn't a close friend, but when I would see Yvonne she would always have a smile and a hug. She always made me smile. I hadn't seen her for about a year and a half or so, and something kept telling me to look online. Maybe her way of saying "so long, friend!"
So long, friend! Valhalla, where all warriors go to rest, has called you home. Go with God.

Tough lady with a big heart (always helping those who didn't have) and a tremendous sense of humor. We actually discussed doing a comedy routine together. Hardly a day goes by Yvonne without my thinking of you. I will always cherish the memories of our friendship.

Yvonne Newman was fearless and that is how I will remember her. I went to school with her at Thoreau and we played on the basketball team. She had a great sense of humor and a friend to everyone. She was straight-forward and would tell you like it is. My condolences to the family.

I am so sorry, I cannot begin to think of the reasons that Yvonne is gone. But relieved that she did not suffer. It has been a little over a year since Amber and I seen her. Rest in peace beautiful lady.

So sorry to hear of Yvonne's passing. I have many great memories of Yvonne while living as neighbors in Thoreau.  She was a great athlete, and was always fun to be around. We reconnected a while back and relived our fun times...so thankful for that! I think of her often.

Sorry for your loss, I had seen Yvonne on a few occasions and knew her right away. We talked about Thoreau and people we knew. She graduated years before me. She was a great person and will be missed.

Our sister Yvonne Newman Veale passed away on March 4, 2017 at the age of 48 years in Albuquerque New Mexico of natural causes, her two older brothers have made all of her final arrangements, Yvonne was born in Garden Grove California in 1968, she is preceeded in death by her biological mother Lora Nellie Newman, Yvonne briefly resided in Thoreau New Mexico where she attended middle school and high school, Yvonne was a resident of Albuquerque New Mexico for 30 years until her death, Yvonne will be missed for her kooky sense of humor and her larger-than-life personality, she will also be missed by her cousin-brothers and cousin-sisters in southern California and in the four corners region of New Mexico, thank you all for your kind condolences during time of mourning.
