Dearest Femi,
What an inspiration you were through your life!! In health and sickness you marched on with the ultimate goal in mind - to be ready for that prized welcoming embrace when the end comes.

You were ready and I'm sure you were embraced!! Till we all meet xxx

ADIEU FEMI
A gallant nd brave soldier has taken a bow out of the earth. Femi, death didn't defeat u. If that were d case, u shld've been gone long, long time ago. Several times death came calling but u cheated death. When I heard that u were hospitalized, I said to myself, "Femi has been thru worse attacks than dis b4; she definitely will pull thru dis one." But that was not to be. You didn't pull thru, not bc death overpowered u, but bc u decided u were better off being absent from us here on earth nd present wt ur Lord. Sleep on Femi. Enjoy d rest u so deserved. You ve "gallantly" fought a good fight of faith, u ve finished ur race, u kept d faith. There is NOW laid up for u a crown of righteousness. May d comfort of d Spirit drown d pain of your exit on ur dear nd precious mum and loving siblings. May God's comfort also be with our dear Pastor, spiritual father and mentor, Tunde Bakare, his lovely wife and our numerous brothers and sisters in d Latter Rain Apostolic community. We loved to ve u stay but u just ve to go. Adieu dear sister.

Femi, the truth is that I am in shock. I am very sad. Yes, I know you are with the lord but I am still so sad! You planned to visit next month and I was so looking forward to it after so long ... You are all that has been written about you, kind , generous positive, strong and uplifting! You called and never complained even when I haven't called back, you still cared enough to call again.. . A true friend . A true sister . A true Christian . I will miss you. I pray that God will grant your mom and brothers and sister the strength to bear this. I know you are in a better place and that God loves you more. Rest now, my dear friend and sister. In the bosom of our lord Jesus Christ.

My dear friend, Femi

February 27, 2016

Femi was a friend of mine
A dear childhood friend of mine
I met at a boarding school called Kent College
Some 35 years ago - that was indeed a privilege!

Back in the Eightees, now all a haze
Those seem to be such carefree days
With homesickness and Prep as our greatest woes
And of course, cross country runs across woods and meadows

Right from the beginning, she stood out
As someone with whom you wouldn't mess about
Principled, responsible, a Christian devout
Plain-spoken yet understanding without a doubt

She was like a big sister, compassionate and caring
And kept us all in check, from misbehaving
She once talked us out of watching an 18 movie
Which for a group of 16 year olds was a big deal to go and see

She tolerated PE and enjoyed Speech & Drama
Got her article published in the school magazine, Saga
And partook willingly in midnight feasts and pillow fights
Her cheeky chuckle could be heard well before she came into sight

With time we all spread out, to the four corners of the globe
Yet Femi maintained the circle of friends, with her as the central spoke
Through her, news of each other we learnt
Of life taking many an unexpected turn

She led by example in showing us how to be
Bold and fearless in the face of adversity
Always cheerful and with such positivity
She endured gracefully and with quiet dignity

Just count your blessings, she once told me
I realised then, that's how she coped so admirably
Selfless, encouraging and never complaining
She soldiered on, her faith unwavering

Despite her health, living life to the fullest
She did so much, she was simply the coolest
An exceptional individual, a wonderful inspiration
Her amazing achievements worthy of commendation

To adorn His crown, as a precious jewel dazzling radiantly
God called her home, from pain and suffering to be set free
Where, rejoicing in His glorious presence for all eternity
We'll meet again, my dear friend Femi.
