Early Life

Our Mummy, Princess Adetoun Oladayo Solebo was born in Sagamu, Ogun state on the 28th of September 1942, to the family of Prince Stephen Akinyemi Adesanya and Mrs. Dorcas Adekefun Adesanya (nee Sosan) Her father was a pharmacist who served in different states of the old western region, before settling finally as the chief pharmacist at the general hospital Lagos. Unfortunately, he died when she was just 17 years old.
Adetoun had her primary education at St Jude's School Ebute-Metta and her secondary education at Ahmaddiya Girls’ High School Surulere, Lagos. She was very good at athletics and she often represented her school at various athletic events. A beautiful , feisty and vivacious young woman, she had a brief stint as a model and was on billboards nationwide as the ‘NKU’ girl. She was recruited into West African Air Club (WAAC) where she worked briefly as a hostess with Nigeria Airways, before leaving for the United Kingdom in 1964.
