Even though we knew each other in passing, we always had a word for each other whenever we met at Juma'at so it was with shock I heard of your passing on Tuesday. May Allah grant you AlJanaah Firdaus and console those you left behind, Amin.

Events, such as this, leave one with more questions than answers; create queries without responses. Akeem, your passing and passage, though a great shock to all, reminds us of the flimsy and fragile nature of life as it were.
You touched peoples' lives with your wide smile, characteristic hair style, yuppy looks, and 'never-say-never' approach to challenges. I learnt from you the power in being driven and focused, even in the midst of haze.
Will we all miss you? Not sure there is a proper response to that. May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace and understanding that you achieved a ton in your short journey on earth.
We pray for your family and multitude that remain in shock of this occurrence

Some people were born great, some attained greatness while some had greatness thrust at their doorsteps. Tibasco, you were undoubtedly a great man. You stormed this sinful world like a meteor, bestrode it like a colossus and bolted before the ovation became the loudest. You were a good man with a good heart. You were a good friend and a true muslim. May God be kind to your beautiful soul. We take consolation in the Latin maxim, 'vitam finita est non torito'. Good night Tibasco.

Sir,
This came to me as a rude shock that words cannot quantify. We miss you, each of us for all the special intangible ways that your touched our hearts - ways that cannot be defined by words. I recall you always say "Go home Sheila, it's late. Get a life!" laughing whole heartedly, out of concern (whenever it was late at, the office). Whenever Arsenal had a game, pure banter would follow afterwards at the hallway. I had never viewed Arsenal the same, ever! While it hurts to lose you, God knows what's best and I pray God gives your family the fortitude to bear this loss.
Your jovial, bubbly, hardworking and God fearing self will not be forgotten.
Sleep in the bosom of the Lord. You live on!!!

We never met but I used your office during a 2 week visit to Lagos in 2008. I felt I got to know you using your space. It was evident you were a coffee lover with the coffee maker by your desk. God has called you to His bosom. Though we mourn, we know you are in a better place. Rest in peace

Akeem it's still hard to believe you are gone, the last time we spoke I was in your office to wish you a happy birthday and accuse you of never being around. I didn't know that indeed that would be the last time I'd see you around. You were so full of life and you lived it to the fullest, a true Gemini brother and my almost birthday mate as I'd call you. I will miss stopping by to say hello and recounting our days together on the negotiating table. God knows why He called you so suddenly and so soon, He knows all. You will be remembered fondly and missed dearly. Rest In Peace dear friend.

LAW

We received the unexpected news of your death with a great shock and deep sorrow in our hearts. We find it difficult to believe that you are no more. Though we had looked forward to more years of our interaction with you as an in-law, we cannot question God since it pleased him to call you unto eternal rest at this time.

Oh, my amiable in-law, you are a man of peace, wisdom and truth. You had such a wonderful sense of humour. Your demise is a great loss to us. We will miss your warm company, phone calls, jokes and also the name “TJ Pumpi/ Baa Shakur ” that we call each other.

May the good Lord grant you eternal rest in his bossom and may he divinely console your wife, children and all of us who mourn you.

Adieu, my in-law!
Adieu, Man of Peace!

My Tunji, my brother! I'm still reeling from the news....Please tell me it's not so!! You were a true friend and so wise beyond your years. The warmth you exude, the tenacity of your loyalty, the kindness of your heart, the exemplary way you lived fairly as humanly possible....how would I not miss you My Brother!

Dear Akeem, I knew you from a distance, just enough to say hello in passing but your death hit me hard. Someone so full of life, always smiling and with a constant bounce in his steps shouldn't go so soon. We can't question God but trust that HE has your family in the palm of HIS hands. May HE grant them the solace they need now and everyday that they miss you. Rest well Akeem, keep bouncing.

It's hard to believe that you are gone. You are one of the few who call my name in full, "Jolaade". You were an inspiration to many. May Almighty Allah grant you Aljanah Firdaus and take good care of the family you left behind.

Mr. Sodeke My Egbon. You were truly a good man who lived an admirable and exemplary life. I remember when you gave me a token when I initially failed my professional exam. Even when I said I didn't deserve it. You insisted and said it was to encourage me to keep trying. You will be missed dearly. I pray God will grant fortitude to your family and meet them at every point of their need. Rest in perfect peace My Egbon. Amen

I still cannot fathom the fact that you are no more, that you won't be visiting Onne shorebase soon, that we won't argue about the playing tactics of Arsenal & Chelsea, that you won't come to occupy your space opposite my work area. It's so sad cos you were so full of life but you lived your life like a candle in the wind, shone so bright but gone too soon. Hmmmmm Life is always so funny & dramatic, May your gentle soul rest In Perfect Peace. Adieu Boss.

Hmmm...Tunji, knowing you is knowing someone who loved his friends. Someone whose love for his wife was so obvious. I can't imagine what hell she's going through.

I pray for her strength throughout this period and the season to come. God, I pray for strength and faith for her to know that you'll be there for her now and will be waiting at the other side. I pray for strength and wisdom for her for the children. Most of all I pray for peace and calm for her, that peace that surpasses all understanding.

It is WELL.
