To the Goldsberry Family with deepest sympathy for your loss. Ava and Dale were close friends of ours for many years. We have wonderful memories of social activities, golfing together, visits in Naples and watching our children grow up together. Ava was a beautiful, kind person who saw the humor in most things...especially on the golf course. I still laugh every time I think about our golfing trip to Firestone to compete in a charity golf tournament when a storm and pouring rain caught us unprepared on the course. None of us girls had rain apparel except Ava who had an outfit for every occasion. This is the Ava her friends will remember...not the friend we lost years ago to a debilitating illness. May our beloved friend rest in peace.

Dale and Ava were our very best friends. When my wife (Arlene) and lived in Athens County, we played cards almost every Saturday night. Even after we left Athens County we remained good friends. We miss Ava and her wonderful cooking and her great smile

Ava and her family hold so many memories of my early childhood. I would enjoy a front row seat at her kitchen table in my H.S. years as she gracefully moved around her kitchen to prepare a quick dinner or snacks for the motor home. It didn't matter if she was in the kitchen or on the golf course, I marveled at her grace, beauty and poise in how she moved. I was fortunate in later years to receive one of her watercolor paintings that I continue to enjoy in my home today. She was loved by so many...my heartfelt love goes out to Dale, Kevin, Mark and Craig. She was a gem!

Ava and I shared a lot of memories on golf courses--mostly at WGA events at the Athens country club, but we also played together as teammates on Southeastern and Hocking College Open teams. We were together in a women's foursome that played 66 holes on the Longest Day of Golf to benefit the American Cancer Society. I vividly recall playing gin against Ava, 50 cents a game, on the long drive up to Cadiz for a Southeastern. Ava rescued me at the last minute when I needed alterations on a skirt to wear to the O'Bleness charity tournament dinner. She was so classy and so kind and great fun. Dale and Ava took their motor home to White Sulphur Springs, with Connie Stanforth and me as passengers where we had an unforgettable experience at the Solheim Cup. Ava drove the motor home to Pinehurst, with Connie, Maud Jidestig, and me, where we enjoyed watching a Women's Open. It wasn't all golf, though; the trip to Lancaster, to her brother's home, for an outing to jig frogs on the canal was all Ava's idea! So many wonderful and cherished times we shared together...some the best times of my life. Ava loved golf and card games, but most of all, she loved her family and was always a giving and loving friend. I have, and will continue, to miss her. I send my heartfelt sympathies to the family.

Will forever remember the card games with Dale and Ava. Always had a great time. Ava was the type of person that make you feel so welcome to her home. I have missed seeing her in the last few years. The boys were such a joy and were like nephews. Loved them all.

Dear Goldsberry Family,

SO, so many great Memories of Ava and Dale ... OU bobcat fans to the maximum degree. Memories from The Plains, Golf, The RV, and Athens Country Club, Athens High School, OU and of course - Sohio in the day. Ava always carried herself with such elegance, especially in the treatment and care of others and her devout love of family was always at the forefront. Thoughts and prayers to the entire Goldsberry extended family at this difficult time. Please know we are with you in mind and spirit, while maybe not in person. Heaven gained a great spirit and soul. Much Love, Judd and Kim Stephenson

Ava was a friend who was beautiful, talented and most of all dedicated to her family. She was an exceptional golfer who gathered many friends in her lifetime, me included. I have so many wonderful memories of trips with she and Dale in our younger years. We had so much fun. I want her family to know how very special she was and will be remembered by those of us who were privileged to have known her.
