This is a lovely tribute by son Glenn on Mother's Day May 12th 2013

On Mother’s Day, like so many other “special” days, I look up at one of the many pictures that I have of mom and you, and think of when she was still with us.... The visits down to your neck of the woods, the long..., so times very long, hugs that mom gave me, and the good times visiting with you both. I always thought that

You have created such a beautiful site for Barbara, I am amazed by it. SO many wonderful photos and stories. Obviously, a lot of work and love went into it. You should be very proud of it. As difficult as it must be for you, it must be rewarding to have created something so beautiful for your love. I hope it is helping a little bit to get you through. Love, Deborah Goss

Happy Birthday, Nana. I'm sad you're gone, but glad you're in a better place.

Thinking of you on your birthday Mom, and missing you tremendously. Always listening to your beautiful piano music and remembering your love, laughter, and gentle ways in my warm memories of you. So glad you were brought into this life on that happy day 84 years ago today. We were all blessed to know you - and we kids were especially blessed to have you as our Mom.

Hi Chuck,
When Dad & I had the pleasure of joining you & Barbara for lunch at your lovely home on the canal, it had been a long time since seeing you both. But it never seemed we had we lost any time once we walked through your door. Like old times! Laughs, fun, great food by Barbara, and big pilot reunion! Yours & Barbara's love lit the room!

Hi Chuck,
What a nice tribute to Barbara and all of the fond memories of friends and family. It's hard to put someone's life into a small capsule, but I believe that this tribute really tells everyone so much about the life and love the two of you shared for so long. Nice to see the early pictures too.
A great job. Thanks for sharing this with all of us.

I met the lovely Barbara 60 years ago at my marriage to her cousin, Harold. Over the years it was always a pleasure to see her..especially at the annual "Silver" cousins family picnics where Barbara brought her delicious Blueberry Buckle Cake to share with everyone. She was a loving daughter to her elderly parents. God Bless!

My Nana was kindhearted and generous. She had an undeniable creativity that she radiated at all times and shared with her loved ones through her poems, collages, and hand-made cards. She was beautiful and graceful, and always had the most lavish hats. I love her and she will always be missed.

Nana was graceful and full of charm. When she walked into a room it was filled with light and love. She showed me what it looked like to be a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was full of class and elegance; she was a woman to be admired. I miss her terribly.

Dear Chuck and family, This beautiful testimony of your love and devotion to this special woman is inspiring to us all. I only had the honor of meeting her once and I remember being struck by her inner grace which was only enhanced by her outer beauty. She appeared to be more concerned with her loved ones than herself. How wonderful to witness on these pages her bright spirit shining on.

Barbara was beautiful inside and out. Her famous hats made her stand out in a crowd, her tastefully decorated homes made guests feel welcome and her warm embrace made you know how much she cared. Special connection since my mom was also Barbara, born November, 1928 as well. Both Barbara's wonderful mothers, wives and friends and both missed by so many.

Some of most favorite memories from my childhood include Mrs. Hoeft. Coffee times with all the neighborhood, our outings to Brookline to Bumpys house while she worked. Those back to school shopping trips on the train to Filenes. Barbara was one of the most wonderful people to have touched my life and I am sure she and my mom are enjoying each others friendship again.

Barbara was a treasure in our Bourne Women's Club. She generously shared her talents for writing, note card designs and collages with all of us. She will always be remembered for her graciousness, smashing outfits with a matching chapeau which brought smiles to all of us in appreciation for Barbara's gift of showing us how to live an exceptional life!

My lovely Barbara was not only beautiful, but very talented. She was Secretary/Treasurer to her father's construction business. She was a pianist, classical & rag, wrote poetry, created collages on the computer, hand designed greeting cards, designed an addition to our house, and decorated it beautifully, and dressed very stylishly always!!!
