Mama Ndlela was a fine soul inside and out. She filled a void in my life of a mother that I lost in 1994 when I lost my dear mother. Mama Ndlela provided the emotional and physical support that I needed to move on in life. She even became the best ever gogo (grandma) to my 3 children who loved her so much because she loved them even more. She taught all of us how to love each other unconditionally. This is one human being who will reign in all of our hearts forever! Farewell my Queen, farewell sweetheart! farewell mama! You inspire me to work so much harder as a Christian because I look forward to seeing you again in heaven. Lala kahle Ndlela.

Aunt Babsie, it was wonderful to spend time with you in July and celebrating your birthday. Little did we know that this will be the last time we interact with you physically. What a blessing this was for us. Thank you for your kindness. I will forever remember your smile that lit the room and made everyone welcomed. You were loved. Your teachings on love, prayer and giving thanks in every situation are appreciated. Lala ngokuthula.

Dear Uncle Charles, Sibusiso, Bongani, Andile, Emily, Nandi and Nia

One is never ready for the loss of a family member regardless of who it is. The news of Aunt Babsie's passing came to us through Aunt Gugu. The rest of the evening was spent reminiscing with Khosi of the wonderful memories, moments and experiences shared with Auntie. This wonderful, blessed relationship and journey started back then when our parents allowed us to be your flower girls when you got married.
Aunt Babsie, I cherish all that you taught us Khosi and I, the times we sat with you as young girls and you shared life's journeys with us, and many other memories. The books shared with us, I will always look at them with fondness . Thank you for your love, kindness and prayers which will always be embedded in my heart.
As a family may you be consoled by the experiences you shared with Auntie, may the life lessons learned through her be precious memories. She is resting now and at peace.

Tribute to Mamkhulu Babsi

A life well lived deserves celebration and appreciation.

Today I would like to celebrate my mamkhulu. The sweetest sweetheart I’ve ever known, lover of beauty and class yet humble at heart, an optimist, support system, prayer warrior, and many other attributes. A mother to all and wife to one. Siyabonga boNdlela for sharing her with us.

I look back and thank the Lord for affording us an opportunity to be loved the way ma loved us all, her siblings and cousins’ children as her own. I pray I was able to reciprocate her love.

She was one of a kind. She was kind hearted, generous, wanted only the best for us, fed us well. I will always think of her at Thanksgiving, with all the food that will have been leftover, she’d encourage us to ‘vaccum the fridge’ . Sikhuluphele sinjena asizenzi, uthando lwakhe.

I will forever miss our chats and prayers together. She would encourage prayer always especially when things were unclear. I got through a number of situations because of her. She was indeed an angel in her own right.

To the Ndlela family, Thank you for all your love and sacrifices towards her. May the Lord richly bless you. Babomkhulu siyabonga asiphezi for having been by her side always. We love you dearly Godide, Mpemba .

To extended family and friends, thank you for the love you showed to ma.

This week is a difficult week for us all but the family in California more as you are in the brunt of it all. We pray that the Lord will guide and that all arrangements will be run accordingly

We thank God for mamkhulu’s life, it blessed us all in more ways than one. May her soul Rest In Peace, she will forever be missed ❤️.

Her Love will forever be engraved in our hearts.

With love,

I will always remember going to church at home in Durban, and the wonderful feeling of us all being together with Sis Babsie, a warm, compassionate and vibrant woman who always went out of her way to help others - no matter what; a dignified woman who had a passion for life; attributes which endeared her to everyone she came in contact with. The list of tributes pouring in from all over, is a great testament to her loving, giving nature, a remarkably devoted, dedicated, thoughtful, God-loving woman, whose love was expressed in many kind ways to countless souls, which earned her so many long lasting friendships over the years. Looking forward to that glorious morning when we will all be hugging and greeting our loved ones and our Sis Babsie and others who have gone ahead of us. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time. "God is closest to those with broken hearts." - Jewish Proverb.

A life lived for God. Gogo shared her life and space to glorify the Lord. Gogo showed love towards everyone she met and loved her family wholeheartedly. I’m grateful to have spent time with her and family during my years of education in America. I’m thankful for her support in every single milestone in my life and I will be forever be grateful for the lessons she taught me about life and relationships. Gogo was an amazing financial support to me when I was a student at Andrews University and she was an amazing mother to my late Mother Nomvula Cele and for that I thank God for her presence in our lives. I pray that the entire Ndlela family are comforted by God and by the many amazing tributes Gogo is receiving.

Thank you is not enough for all that you’ve done for me and rest assured We shall meet again!

Love Msizi and Yolisa Cele

Mama Ndlela was like a mother and a best friend to me, her life was a blessing to me and so many others. I thank God for giving me the opportunity to visit and sing hymns at her bed side a few days before your passing. The fact that she is no longer around will always cause pain in my heart. Am looking forward to that great reunion when the sting of death will be defeated. I will cherish the advice she gave me and treasure the memories we shared... like attending the ladies tea at Loma Linda with our lovely hats. I miss her terribly! May God comfort Dr Ndlela who has lost his beautiful soulmate/best friend and the rest of the family. May she Rest In Peace.

Another flower has folded it's petals waiting for rays of sunlight on the morrow!
"Lord teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." Ps 90:12.
She was kind, positive and practical. She belived in me and pushed me to achieve my goals. She pushed my young family then to apply for a green card when we were thousands of miles removed from her. She would call and say, " have you started the process yet? Please do, it will help your husband and children in the long run.," it took us a while to do it. 22 years latter when i look back I say, "surely, she was inspired by the Holy Spirit." Dr. Ndlela and family, sorry for your loss. She was one of a kind. Good night mam.

Always on the move, always smiling and caring. A real fighter! Old is not a word that could fit mama, she radiated energy and service. Plenty that I have learnt from the few times that I interacted with her. Only God can give strength and comfort to the family at this time. It's my prayer that you all may find this peace in Christ.

Condolences to the family from Madonsela family Umlazi. Sis B was loved by all
This tribute was added by Mantombi Gigaba on March 1, 2020
We used to call her "sis B", back in the mid seventies. I was youth in our church, Umlazi Central SDA Church in Durban, South Africa. Sis B used to teach us everything about becoming a responsible woman of God, in and out of the church. The program was called "Junior Dorcas" back then. She was loved by all of us, she too was very loving. She had a way of making all of us feel equally loved, a way of making each person feel special. She would correct people without making them feel inferior or looked down upon. May the whole family be comfoted in knowing that, "very soon, the trumpet shall sound and we shall meet on that beautiful shore" Forever missed.

"This earth is the place of preparation for heaven. The time spent here is the Christian's winter. Here the chill winds of affliction blow upon us, and the waves of trouble roll against us. But in the near future, when Christ comes, sorrow and sighing will be forever ended. All trials will be over, and there will be no more sickness or death:-Our Father Cares, p278.
