Because You Told Me So!

March 9, 2014
I am Craig, the great nephew of Aunt Polly! My paternal grandmother, Leanna, was her sister! Aunt Polly called her "Sister!" Another little known fact, my maternal grandmother, Grandma Cleo, whom I loved dearly, and Aunt Polly shared the same birthdate, March 21st! That is , also, the day my twin brother and sister, Keith and Kathy, were born! I was inspired by Aunt Polly to host two family reunions, one in Los Angeles and the second, in Tunica, Mississippi! That one, I was co-host with my cousin Shelia Mitchell-Dupree! Often, I would call Aunt Polly just to chit-chat! Knowing she was ill these last few years, I did not keep her long! Aunt Polly would always speak to the importance of keeping the family connected! Her beauty, her smile, her peaceful voice and strong ability to hold us together, despite the demographics, economics, distances, struggles, times will never be forgotten! She is my grandmother's sister and was always about family! Her legacy is family and her love for the Lord! We love you! We will continue to carry your message! I remember that huge book of pictures you had at the reunion in New Orleans! That was great! I hope someone keeps up with it! It was Classic Aunt Polly! I will miss our talks, Aunt Polly! I know you were proud of me!! Because, you told me so!! Thank you!! You will always be in my heart!

A Funny Thing Happened in New Orleans!

March 4, 2014

My name is Jessie!

My grandmother Erin Wabbington Mitchell and Bertha Wabbington Williams were sisters.

At the Wabbington-Sampson Family Reunion in New Orleans, a funny thing happened.  We were preparing to pose for a photo.

When Aunt Bertha took her place in the photo, she was wearing a beautiful top.  I discovered that " Me and Aunt Bertha had the same exact top in New Orleans".
That really made her laugh and I reminded her how great minds and great fashion sense runs in the family.
