Passed away on March 27, 2020 in Long Melford, Suffolk, United Kingdom
This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Beverly Richardson, 77 years old, born on July 9, 1942, and passed away on March 27, 2020. We will remember her forever.
In memory of our lovely sister in law Beverly. She was such a kind and caring person and Pam and I remember all the lovely times we had together and the support that she and Philip have shown to us and all our family. I remember the great times that we had at the ''Richardson'' weekend camps at March, Cambridgeshire over the past few years. The way she coped with the long recovery and pain following her accident continues to be an inspiration to us and all who knew her. Philip, Sally & Tim and families our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Beverly's strength and positivism after the accident in 2012 was something i found incredible. She will be sorely missed at future family events and from the other comments I have read on this site by many friends. Philip, Sally & Tim and families my thoughts are with you.
Thank you for being such a wonderful friend Beverly. I cherish our times together and will carry your beautiful smile with me for ever. Rest in Peace, lovely lady.❤️
Beverly & Philip have been our neighbours since moving to Sudbury 6 years ago. Beverly and I always enjoyed a chat. She was a dear, kind lady who will be sorely missed. Our love to Philip and the family.
Beverly was a kind and thoughtful person .She also had a great sense of humour ! When I was a teenager she was particularly thoughtful. I won't ever forget her. The compassion of all the Richardson family has touched my life. Rest in peace Beverly.
I remember Beverly with deep affection - both from the time that she was my Girls Brigade Captain when I was a teenager at St John's and, in later life, when I arrived as a minister in the East Anglia District and she was asked to support me over a difficult pastoral issue. The way she recovered from the horrific accident was amazing and inspirational. My siblings and I last saw her a year or two ago when she called on us as we were visiting my uncle in Beaconsfield Close, we had a lovely conversation. On behalf of my late parents (and I know that my father as minister of St Johns in the 60's/70's valued the support of both Philip and Beverly very much) and on behalf of Ruth, Monica, Jeremy and myself, we send love, condolences and prayers to Philip, Sally, Tim and the family.
I primarily knew Beverly through my friendship with Sally & John as well as St Johns in the 90s She always had time for everyone and along with Philip very understanding during my more difficult times in my life. I will remember my one and only Holiday with them along with John & Sally, a skiing trip! Their patience with me making it a most memorable week. My thoughts are with the whole family and I will be thinking of you all on Tuesday.
I first met Beverly and her dad, Percy, in 1998 when I visited from Australia researching the Nunn family. We discovered we had common Nunn ancestors (three in fact). I again visited in 2004 and spent a wonderful day with Philip, Beverly and Percy visiting the villages (Chevington, Hargrave, Wickhambrook) where our ancestors lived. At Hargrave Church, Percy pointed out some damage on the exterior that he said happened when a German bomb dropped nearby during the war. When I last had contact with Beverly she mentioned her accident in a matter-of-fact way. What I have read in the tributes fits the impression I had of Beverly from just a few hours in her company. We shared a common faith in Jesus Christ. Sad to hear of your loss Philip. The Lord comfort you and your family through this time.
Our deepest sympathy to Philip and all the family on your loss. Beverly was a friend and a valued member of our Strollers Walking group, Our association goes back forty years from from when I joined Sudbury Round Table and Beryl joined Ladies Circle. We enjoyed several sking and walking holidays with Philip & Beverly which remain cherished memories. Beverly was a courageous and generous woman who gave back to society much more than she ever received. It was a privilege to have known her. With all our love from Sid, Beryl and family.
Dear Beverley was such a lovely person and John and I are proud to have had her as a loyal friend. She was so strong in spirit and gave 100% in all that she did. She had a strong faith and she is now in her heavenly home. The way she fought back from her terrible accident was an inspiration to us. Rest in peace precious lady. xxxxxxxxx
Deepest condolences to Philip and all the family at the loss of such a warm, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and very good friend to so many. Beverly was an inspiration as she coped with the dreadful injuries sustained, and then did so much to support the East Anglian Air Ambulance. Remembering a wonderful woman with great affection and much sorrow. Our hearts go out to all of Beverly’s family and friends. Peter and Valerie Goodchild, Bangor, Northern Ireland.
Dear Philip and all your family, we are all so very sad to hear that you have lost your lovely Beverly. She was such a kind, gentle lady who has endured so much and we send much love to you all xxxxxx

Born 9 July, 1942 at Cook's Hall Cottages, West Bergholt to Douglas Percy Nunn, driver in the Royal Army Service Corps (No T11064) (Milk Roundsman) and Vivien Muriel Nunn (formerly Cubitt) at Cooks Hall Cottages, West Bergholt, Essex
Her father had been born to Mary Ellen Nunn, and his father not documented but believed to be the owner of the local factory where she worked. Mary Ellen was buried in the church yard at Hargrave church her grave being marked by a simple wooden cross.
Her mother was born at Dagworth near Stowmarket to Nora Cubbitt who was in domestic service at Dagworth Hall, and on the death of her father (name ????) married the second son of the owner of Dagworth Hall, Hessel.
Following Beverly’s slow and painful recovery from her accident in 2012, she and all her family were determined to do all they could to raise funds for East Anglian Air Ambulance. This was in no small measure because the EAAA was instrumental in saving her life by transporting her to Addenbrookes Hospital. I was honoured, and humbled, to be asked to accompany Philip and Beverly, with my husband Peter, when together we visited the Air Ambulance base so that Beverly could meet the crew and present them with a cheque from all the fundraising efforts. Beverly asked me to write a report and take photographs of her visit, so these could be submitted to local media to further raise awareness of the vital work of the EAAA. When Peter and I took over as the main organisers, supported by the town’s two Rotary Clubs, of the annual Christmas Tree Festival in St Peter’s, the Air Ambulance was chosen as one of the main recipients of funds raised that first year. Rest in Peace Beverly, it was an honour and a pleasure to be counted as your friend.
