Bill Padley a great guy

October 5, 2013

I first met Bill in 1961 in Fort St. John BC and soon thereafter joined him in a band "The Volcanoes" which eventually morphed into "The Dynamics" with fellow band mates Bjarne Larsen, Jeff Mahaffey and Larry Stefanyk. A few years later we formed another group "The Inn Crowd" with Jim Stenhouse and Laine Dahlen.

I lost touch with Bill for many years and re-connected in Penticton in 1992. We kept in touch over the years and in 2006 gathered up a group of old band mates for the "Notre Dame High School re-union in Dawson Creek where the re-union committee referred to us as "Still A Live Band" with fellow members Jim Stenhouse, Laine Dahlen, Merv Bowman and Ray Jeanotte. This was an absolute hoot as I hadn't seen some of these guys in 35 years.

In recent years, I often dropped in at Bill's work place "Penticton Honda" to catch up, tell old war stories and have a few laughs.

Bill was a good buddy and I will miss him greatly. My sincerest condolences to his family

I first met Bill on Skaha Beach with Eldon Peacock in the '70s.  Lots of fast boats, cold beer and fun in the summer sun!  Bill was good friends with my husband, George Kuhn, in the '80s, and when we went on a 2 week holiday to California with our kids (Nikki & Tyler), Bill stepped up and successfully managed our business, Judy's Deli at Cherry Lane.  Our son Tyler played hockey with Sean and Bill was always helping out with the team - including laundering all the boys' jerseys after every game.  When I took my car to Honda, Bill always had time for a friendly chat. I'm sad to hear that Bill is gone and send my sincere condolences to his family.  He will be lovingly remembered.  Rest in peace Bill.
