To Mike and family: I only met you and your son and daughter once when I brought Carrie a cake over on Mother’s Day before she entered the hospital. I spoke with her several times in the hospital. I loved Carrie from the day I met her in our Embroidery and quilting circle. I treasured her friendship and she was on my heart as I had not spoken to her in a long while. I called this morning and left her a message and then found out that she had passed away and I am in shock. My condolences to you all. She was such a sweet soul.

Wow, I'm just finding out that my dear cousin and friend is no longer here. I was calling...just knowing all was good with her new heart....we had so many talks and laughter. I will never forget when she came to Nebraska and stayed for a week...alot of fun from the first time we met. My prayers and condolences to her husband & children .

Ms. Carrie had the most gentle calming spirit that drew you in. Her beautiful smile was engaging. I fondly recall our conversations over Kappa Silhouette business. I could depend on Ms. Carrie to objectively listen to a situation and provide wise counsel. I will miss Ms. Carrie’s smile and kind spirit. Rest well my dear Silhouette Sister.

Carrie you will be Truly Missed! I can't help but to think and laugh about the last time that I saw you, Nikki and Maddie and we went to get ice and we all forgot about the ice and it melted in the trunk of your car. LOL, I will forever be grateful for the light that you shined on others. To the Family Carrie will never be forgotten.
Love you all,
Dee Dee

Aunt Carrie, you were truly one of a kind. In my earliest memories of you, I can always remember being so amazed by you. You were always one of the most beautiful women I knew. You were funny, charming, witty, smart, and so much more. You were my idea of what every mother and wife aspired to be. Thank you for loving me, but most importantly, thanks for the love that you provided everyday to Uncle Mike, Terry, Brandon, Nicole, and even Tiny and Plummie. You were truly filled with so much love and compassion for others. Though I wish I had done it sooner, I look forward to learning more about your life and you as a person. Love you always.

Carrie was my neighbor in West Goldwire Estates. She graduated from the same high school as myself, and as an adult....we messaged each other on FB. She was a smart, lovable, mature and beautiful. I am so darn proud that I even knew of such a person like this special lady!

I will always be grateful for Carrie's friendship. She was the epitome of grace and always had a big, beautiful smile. I was able to visit her in March just before hospitals were closed to visitors. We had lunch together and just enjoyed each other. Carrie fought so hard over the months to stay with us, and her faith never waivered. Rest in Heaven, my dear friend. Always in my heart.

This morning I just wanted to share this story with you and Carrie's love ones. My dear friend Carrie will always be special in my heart. Carrie and I met in 2006 at a Kappa event. Right away Carrie and I realized that we had a lot of things in common. We shared recipes, sewing activities and stories about how we met our Kappa man. Carrie was not only smart, she was pretty, loving, had an awesome laugh , she was also sweet and she would even give you the shoes off her feet. Carrie had one very special love at the top of her list and that would be little "Mattie"and then of course Mike and the rest of her children. In spite of Carrie's illness , she found time to come to my home and we made little shirts and dresses (Global Impact Project for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority) for the needy children on the island of Haiti. Yesterday , I received these videos and pictures of the happy children in their new clothes. If Carrie was here , she would say, "God bless the children"!!!!

We love you Carrie, may you rest in peace from your dear friend & Silhouette Sister Betty "BJ"Jones♦️
