ForeverMissed
We would like to remember a friend, a son, a father. You will always live in our hearts and memories. ....and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. – Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 The Cassidy Bennett Memorial Fund has been set up at First Mountain Bank to help his mom with expenses.

Happy birthday a few days late. I didn’t forget, just been crazy with things. We never forget. We miss you. You’d be crazy proud of your kid. I hope you can see him, and are watching over him. You’ll always be with us.

Happy birthday my friend. Every day I'm pretty sure I think of you or remember something we did or just wish we were doing something together. You're still thought of by many of friends. You just had that effect on people. I'm glad I get to see your brother Eric all the time. Small world, he lives real close to me in the city of angles. Your son is a chip off the old block. You'd be real proud of that young man Zechariah. We all miss and love you. Jenny found that rock that your mom painted for me. Says I love my truck with a yellow pick up truck painted on it. I hope you too are smiling down on us. Keep us safe till we meet again. I love you bro!

Cassidy loved birthdays… even when it wasn’t his actual birthday. Eric (Cass’ stepbrother) and I took the drive down from the Bay Area one year to visit my folks in LA. We met up with a friend, Majed (our future best man), on the hill to do a little fishing and boarding for Majed’s birthday. Although this was their first meeting, Cassidy and Majed became fast friends. (To be honest, I can’t imagine anyone Cassidy couldn’t charm with his infectious laugh and youthful spirit.) That night, the two walked arm and arm, bursting through every bar’s threshold, proclaiming “It’s my birthday, what do I get?” Boy, did they cleaned up, with round after round of free shots, and even singing some random karaoke song together. Years later, Eric and I met Majed and his wife in Palm Springs. When the topic of birthday plans came up, he told me that that one year was his favorite to recall. Picture it, a quiet bodybuilding immigrant, in Big Bear for the first time, suddenly becomes the king of the hill for the night, thanks to the special escort by the Mayor. “So what if he called me Magic? It was a magical night, cold but magic.”

Happy birthday Cassidy, we miss you!

Every year, every day I still cannot believe that this is actually happening. It's been 7 years and it seems that everyone that knows you will never be able to accept this reality. You brought so many people so much happiness and I'm so glad that I got to be one of them. You are for now and will always be my family. I love you.

Happy birthday my brother! Still can't believe this is real, still think about you everyday. Was up at Bass lake couple weeks ago and found a huge rope swing into the lake. I thought about how this was right up your alley, and that you would be blasting off of it. Probably bust out a flip and always going to the highest point for takeoff! It's times like that, sitting on the lake, sipping on a cold one that I know your spirit is here with us. Drink many a beers in your name! Love and miss you Cassidy. Rope swing in the sky forever

"Your picture is on my wall
It helps me remember you
And I recall
How I'm amazed
I still love you the same
Yeah, I'm amazed I still love you the same
I still remember the shape of your hands,
The times when you'd walk with me
And make me laugh.
And I'm amazed at how much we've changed
Yeah, I'm amazed I still love you the same
Each night I see you in my sleep
And I'll always dream that you're here with me
And I'm amazed I still love you the same"

Crazy Times

Shared by Tony Hernandez on July 18, 2013

I knew Cass from early High School. We hung out alot and did alot of crazy things together! He was a hilarious and crazy dude! We would cruise all over sugarloaf on our bikes. I even took a trip with him, fat bob and Shelly to Havasu for Spring Break. We had a blast and even got arrested for underage drinking. It was funny and there were alot of us out there that time. He taught me how to water ski behind fat bobs badass jet boat. I remember mostly his laugh and smile! I remember he used to call himself "BELAFONTE" back then. I had no idea why he would say it but it was just funny to hear him say it. He was a good friend of mine for a long time and he will be greatly missed! I was very sad to hear he had left us and i know him and my brother Jay are up there raising hell and doing anything and everything! I miss you Cass!! Ride on brother!

I would get Cass to do my drafting assignment in class at B.B.H.S, because he was better at it than me.lol I would call him over to my desk, and he would look at my papare and say, WITH THAT GRIN, " hear--let me show you how to do this right....draw this line, mesure this, cut that" ect...next thing i knew , it was done!!!!! lol He never seemed to mind! that was Cass'es way............always lending a hand

Good Times!!!

Shared by David Thomforde on May 20, 2010

So many good times with my friend Cassidy! I know many of you also shared lots of good times with Cass, he was good like that. Cassidy was my first friend i made after moving to Baldwin Lake from Whittier in 1987. I was 12 and Cass 13 years old, We had lots of things in common, bikes,  skateboards, and motorcycles. Living out in Baldwin Lake was unique in many ways, and not just because we rode the short buss home from school that dropped us off at end of the paved road.  Baldwin Lake at that time has a lot less houses and that meant we were free to do just about what ever we wanted. Cassidy lived down the road at "The Ranch" with his parents Shelly and Fat Bob. During the summer his step brother Erik Thyll would stay their also. We knew that place like the back of our hands, every trail, spring, and bike jump. When we weren't riding our bikes we were riding dirt bikes. Cassidy had a 1974 Harley Davidson 125cc, and i had Suzuki 80cc or as Bob would often refer to it as " jap crap" . We would ride down 2N02 to the Gods Eye or to Cactus flats and just about anywhere our bikes would take us. Shelly would never let us leave without a bandanna, just in case we needed to make a turnicate, so thought full knowing us.  Ride in Peace Brother!
