Memories of Grandma

June 3, 2021

I remember one trip back to Nigeria when it was time to eat on the plane like most people. I thought the plane food was bad but grandma wanted me to eat my greens. Then she began feeding me and I was hesitant and complaining, then the white person beside us was like oh no leave the kid and he gave me candy. Immediately the man stood up to use the restroom, she looked at me and knocked my head and asked me if i couldn’t say no to strangers.

During the period my younger sister and I were in elementary school there were a lot of songs being released at that time but one song my grandma could listen to was “sweet mother by Prince Nico Mbarga.

This is my own little way of paying my respect to a pretty, humble, hardworking and caring woman who lived a wonderful life and brought up 5 solid men(what a blessing)

Mother inlaw to my friend- turned -sister, Sarah Ahuchogu( nee Osifo ), you will be forever missed. I still have a picture of your quiet but amiable presence @ most of the birthday parties (Chuka/Sarah 's kids) your grand children in Festac.

Accomplished medical director and God's general, may our mother Mary present you before her Son Jesus to receive your crown of glory.
Your death is not a loss but a change to immortality where there is no sickness or pain. Adieu Ezinne !!!

ETERNAL REST GRANT UNTO HER O LORD!

I just heard of the demise of mama...Dr was my HOD at Massey Street Children Hosp where she retired.
I can't forget her love and support when I worked with her.
She took good care of me when I was pregnant for my first child,we went through every stages, labour, delivery and nursing of baby.
I can not forget Christmas party with the Ahuchogus... daddy slicing the chicken himself and mama rolling out delicacies from her kitchen.
Hmmn how I wish people don't die.
Sweet remain the memories of mama
