"Crash"

That was what Cathy called me after I backed into her car at the bowling alley in Bailey. Yep, there used to be a bowling alley in Bailey! I had the pleasure of working with Cathy for almost 10 years at the Platte Canyon School District Office. We had so many laughs and so much fun. Her favorite thing to do was call people and sing happy birthday very badly. She recruited many of us in the district office to join her and we called spouses, children, and friends much to their embarrassment! Cathy also memorized license plate numbers of cars and could tell who was at the district office at any given time just by looking at the license plate numbers of the cars parked in the parking lot. One of the recent memories I have with Cathy is when she had two tickets to a Colorado Rockies game and she invited me to go. I came to town and we rode the light rail into downtown Denver. When we got to the downtown station, I followed the wrong people and took a wrong turn walking to the ballpark! It took us forever to get to the ballpark, but she did not complain and we spent the extra time talking and catching up as we had not seen each other in a while. We finally made it to the ballpark at the third inning and we still had so much fun! Cathy loved going to the Spaghetti Factory and Denver Zoo Lights, a treat we received from our superintendent Dr. Walpole every Christmas. I am sad that Cathy and I did not get to spend much time together in the past year. I was really looking forward to going to a Rockies game with her, taking her to the Zoo lights and bringing her up to the mountains she loved. I will miss her so much. Love you forever my friend!
